I hope to god we have balanced teams next year. We’ve gone from 1 car that’s too fast last year to just a different car being too fast this year.

It’s nobody’s fault it’s just how it is.

The oly way hamilton can do something is change the game with second pit. Verstappen would pit too, but on softs mercedes can be better maybe. Otherwise he risks perez to catch him in the end. Honestly perez is not capable to beat hamilton, in my opinion

Verstappen lost around 2s behind those backmarkers, we'll se how fast they jump out of hamilton's way.
As it turns out it was something similar.

Unlikely Perez can overtake Hamilton. Has to make up 10 seconds and overtake with a much slower car on straight. It also looks like Mercedes' pace is better on hard than medium, same as in USA.
He's quicker on the hards than Hamilton and benefitting from some younger rubber in the bargin.

Catching him is on. Getting by will be down to traction out of the last sector.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

Max won't pit again even if Hamilton does. If Hamilton were to pit again, he'd be behind Perez and over 30 seconds behind Max. Which is, of course, why Hamilton won't pit again either.

Bottas to pit on second to last lap for softs and neutralize fastest lap battle?

If Perez got Ham you'd pit ham to take fastest lap off max. Ham would have to wait to last 2 laps however to avoid max just shadowing him.

Surely they've only told Ham that it's last lap in order to keep him going. Surely Perez will get him by mid 60's?

He'd have to enter the top 10, first. Fastest lap point is only awarded if you are within the top 10.
Two stroke: a little more than half the power, twice as often.

Thinking about it there's nothing really in it is there - what is it 3 points between 2nd and 3rd?

If ham pits for FL and takes it off max its 2 point swing so basically only 1 point loss if he loses out to Perez

Or am I going mad?

Safer to use Bottas, however, as a pit stop always has a risk of a problem.

The point is, but you still get the lap which means the Red Bulls wouldn't have it. Which is the point.

Imagine Bottas pits and fails to do so. Fresh rubber

No one gets it then. Bottas is out of the points anyway so he doesn't lose anything.
