Has there ever been a French MotoGP champion?

Finally a Yamaha champion once again. Quartararo and Yamaha weren't the fastest combo out there, but they surely were consistent. And lucky a bit with how whenever he had a bad race the competitor furthest away in the championship would take most points.

They are also not consistent. Sometimes they are fastest and sometimes very bad. If they were consistent this title were gained many races ago.

Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

I wouldn't agree with that. Quartararo had only 4 races out of top 5. And of those he was leading one by a big margin and fell down the order because of arm pump (Jerez).

To me that is very consistent performing.

It is of course best over there but I mean a winner bike would stay at podium or first 5 in bad day. But they are not like that. Even yesterday, they started very very back and if there weren't crashes, still would be different story.

Wow...I knew something bad happened!

Just as he recovered from his arm then this happens! I don't really see how he'll manage to recover from this! I think the end of his brilliant career has come... :?

Yeah I hope he recovers as well. But on the other hand he's been down quite a lot in the last few years, and it was always bloody hard. That also has to play a big mindgame with him.
Apparently he also had "Double vision" issues in his Moto2 days after a big impact. Not sure if its the same issues again now.

It is the same issue (which he suffered in 2011 after crash). He recovered well last time so, I hope and pray that recovers soon.
We need a miracle. We need only one racing lap.

Yeah the doctor said that it's exactly the same nerve that got paralyzed in that Moto2 crash back in 2011! That's what is making me think it's going to be career ending...

Anyway...the Jerez test was really important for 2022! Losing it means he won't be able to give his development direction to the team which also means he might have to spent another "2021" season trying to improve the bike to his liking!

Whatever...I hope he just gets well and back on his bike like normal! Otherwise MotoGP races will become quite boring without him always challenging for victory... :?

I don't think I've ever seen this much tribute paid to someone in motorsport

Tenth on checkered flag and under half a second per lap to the winner on his last race, a respectable last race for Rossi!
