whos gonna win?

its time for the predictions! who do you guys think will win australia, and why? also, will there be any surprise preformances, or lack thereof, farther down the grid? i am thinking it will be giancarlo on top, because the renault has looked strong and hopfully is, and his style is smoother than fernandos which should help the tire situation. as for surprises (well, im not sure how surprising this will be to everyone) i think that massa will blow JV away in the sauber.

I voted alonso, but I have a nasty suspicion the renault pace wont be there when the season starts. Testing is always testing, but there is only so much you can predict from random runs on cold (and at times even snowy) tracks, comparing to racing in warm conditions, with all the variables of the race included. And I'm especially worried about renaults reliability.
At the moment I would like to refrain from making any predictions about the coming season, because I have every year been horribly wrong.
If the outcome is always the exact opposite of what I expect, then this is what you can expect from the season: schumacher will win after all, mclaren and renault will suck, williams is great and bar will remain fast.
I am ATM predicting the exact opposite. :P

In fact, expect Reubens to set the pace. The win will probably come from the team that is best prepared and have done ALL their homework. Yup, Ferrari still has an edge, and sadly, everyone are still chasing the red cars.
That's the problem with being a "pet." You don't expect him to really challenge for the win, but to keep everybody at bay...

fantastic race. great to see the renaults pace is real, now hopefully they can make it through two race weekends! i would say the surprise of the event would have to be DC - sure, he was helped by qualifying, but so were mark webber and jarno trulli (among others). who would have thought that redbull would finish with TWO cars in the points?? awsome.

fantastic race!! i'm really suprised to see the tyres last the race very well, and didn't really see any problem with most of the car. its great to see the pace of renault, particularly alonso, together with rubens, which show the pace of ferrari, who raced through the field.i still couldnt understand how rubens managed to be in 2nd place.DC is a real suprised.Ignore the luck in qualifying, the race pace of DC is not bad at all.MS,as usual, is always crap when he starts from behind.

not surprised at all that tires held up (last year spec tires can go the whole race distance as well without any problem)

i only saw Webber lock it up good... but he seems to have not ruined his tires so he did well...

so happy that RB got second from midfield... even with a last years car, Ferrari did pretty damn well...

glad that Fisi got the win... i cant think of a better person deserving a win
