This seems to suggest the tyres aren't degrading too much and there might not be too many tyre problems...
tire longetivity or wear isnt the problem... (last years spec tires would last a whole race distance without too much problem)... its HOW many sets each driver gets during a weekend... so if you flat spot a tire because you are being aggressive, then you are pretty much screwed.

so, more aggressive a driver, more of an issue this will be.

again, JPM is my pick.

I wonder if Renault, and maybe a few other teams will deliberately ignore reliability issues and go for a points finish? To a team like Jaguar, oops, Red Bull, to set a car up for just one race, without giving any consideration to the second race the engine is supposed to endure .... is probably worth it to gain a spectacular finish. I expect to see cars run to the front, only to see them blow up, or get passed in the latter parts of the race, by the drivers set on a consistent pace.
For instance..... it would be a very good thing for BAR and Honda if they can get Sato a win, especially in any event in the Pacific rim.
Manufacturer's points? I wonder if it will mean very much after this season.

lol... Sato? a win? let see... how many engine did he blow up last year?

but we digress... whos going to flat spot their tires in the first corner?(which will make for a looooong race for the poor bastard).

JPM is still my candidate :)

Plane on the way back home. Crosswind means the plane has to approach at an angle and straighten at the last moment. One heck of a pressure in those things.
