I think its all down to set-up to get the suspension/wing mechanism to work. In turkey/brazil it worked a dream as its circuit dependant.

The problem is Horner is talking to the new, the less knowledgeable, and the fair weather fans who don't know any better!

Plenty of long time fans that don't seem to know any better as well. It's not really down to how long you've been a fan.

What do you think about the race pace? Seemed to be a bit slow.

Nobody knows what fuel levels all had, for all we know merc would have been on full tank and redbull on half tank & viceversa

Also Max was on soft tyres and Lewis on medium tyres ... so I don't know how anyone can draw conclusion from it

I don't know a definitive answer, but the week before the race and in the build up to it, Toto and other people from Mercedes said it would be used.

Maybe they decided against it at the last minute, but I haven't heard anything saying that was the case.

I presume Mercedes went into the season with the focus in the factory as much as possible on ‘22. They even use the same chassis as last year (not the same design but the actual chassis). If they win both titles this year, they done it with minimal effort and things look good for ‘22. What they probably underestimated was the impact the new floor rules had on the diva behaviour of the W11/12.
They are trying to pull the same trick as in 2013/2014.
