Can't wait till next year. I have a feeling that we will see a return to form Danny ric.
I understand people's excitement, but for me personally, next year makes me anxious more than anything. It's just that ever since 2014, I have slowly lost hope in this team. These last two years rekindled the hope. Especially this year. After all that time, we were finally on the top step of the podium again, but not only that, the car that came out of the factory has been (generally) at a decent level of competitiveness. Yes, we lost a bit of the "oomph" this second last of the season, but with stable regulations I would have been more confident in the team taking the next step for 2022.
But next season we are going into a blank slate. Yes, it's an opportunity to take a bigger bite out of the advantage from the teams in front, but there's a chance we might go back to where we were not so long ago. And the thought of that happening is "troubling".
Call it ptsd from the 2013-2018 period, but until the team "proves me wrong" on track next season, I will be nothing but anxious for our future.
The only thing that gives me some hope is the fact that the team is not what it was a couple of years ago. The structure is better, but more importantly, better people are now in charge of that structure. I guess we just have to trust those people and see what awaits us next season.
I feel like whatever "tone" is set next year, will probably remain the "norm" for at least the first couple of years of these new regulations. If we are competitive, chances are we will keep that competitiveness for a while. But if we are not competitive, then we will probably have to stay in the midfield for a couple more years.
