Lando .

“So of course, there will be opportunities I’m sure now for other drivers to do things and maybe go to Red Bull or Mercedes.

“The good thing about this is that I know those opportunities [could materialise], or I’m confident those opportunities would arise in the next few years, but the fact is I’ve still chosen to commit to McLaren.

“That is quite a strong message, that this is still where I want to be, this is where I want to achieve race wins and podiums and championships with.

“I did weigh all the factors for my own benefit and what I think could have come up in the next few years with drivers leaving and so on.

“But in the end, McLaren for me was still the best option. So that’s why I’m most happy to be here and commit to my team.”

A huge vote of confidence in the team!!

You got to feel for Ricciardo. This is the third time in a row that his team setting his young teammate up for the future of the team. (Verstappen, Ocon and now Norris).
Well Danny RIC said he would like to finish his carrier in Mclaren, and if he gets up to speed I'm sure Mclaren will give him contract extension as well and he will indeed retire there.

So it's all up to him now (valid if Mclaren gives both RIC & NOR a decent car this year)

Indeed, I was thinking the same thing. Lando must be pretty bullish about McLaren's prospects for him to commit four years before the new car has even turned a wheel.

More good news... :D :D
Is this likely to include Peter Prodromou? Is he even still in McLaren?
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

Hi is, but he is Chief Engineer (Aerodynamics) and reports to Key, so not at the seniority level of others mentioned

That is interesting what it is doing there, is merc producing anything for their f1 program in Germany? Like mentioned windtunnel maybe? Or, which external company is it mclaren use for their complete car dyno test?

AVL i think the company is called, its in 8020 Graz, Austria, could that be it, its one of the offical main trucks, not their sec hand support trucks…
Not because of Mercedes… The team is still using the Toyota Wind Tunnel that is in Cologne, so probably a trip to work on the aero.
no.. this truck was basically in south Germany, (Baden-Wuettenberg) Cologne is north west, a good 4 hours drive..
That’s the only good reason I can think of for McLaren to be in Germany 🤔

Another interesting thing about Lando’s contract… There are no out clauses for either him or the Team… Quiet the commitment from both parties!

Yeah nice extension for Lando, all in for a while. Don't write off the honeybadger yet. Could get quite interesting if he starts whooping Lando this season. He needs to come out firing though. Hopefully the car is more to his liking this year.

I’m cautiously optimistic, if the car even vaguely suits Daniels style, he’s gonna be amazing this year!

Did I say cautiously optimistic? 🤣

So according to this post https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/comme ... urce=share

Mercedes, Aston, Red Bull all bought multiple show cars, McLaren didn't buy one, not sure on the guys source of this information, so take with a pinch of salt

*Edit* it seems this information has been verified by the F1 Reddit mods

McLaren has always been very loyal to his fans, so I don't think they will do such nonsense as Red Bull.

Good news if true.

Aston Martin PR guy commented on twitter that not all cars will be show cars, so I am guessing they are showing a real car too.

Indeed.

Let's hope McLaren will show a early car at least, like Haas :P
