This feels very odd somehow. Something doesn't add up here. Just intuitively looking at it, I believe the real version of the car is more akin to this:

The sidepod inlet shape looks normal. I mean that's what it looked like on the W10 before they lowered the upper SIPS in 2020, and lowering the spar is not possible under these new rules so of course the inlet goes back to the old shape

While everyone talks about the suspension, no one notices how you can see the edge wing through the sidepod undercut. :?:

Looking at the fake "movable" piece on the 4th element, i was wondering if this could be a 60% wind tunnel model.

Looking at that - where does the lower main plane mount? Just missed it from the render, or am I going to clean my specs?

I pointed that out in a previous post. It's attached (or integrated in the mould) to the side plates, so it creates an interesting flow space under the nose tip. It could also flex a bit under air pressure at high speed i guess.

Thanks Giando - so do you reckon that the main plane is actually suspended then from the second plane?

It's surely not just hanging from the slot gap seperators? Imagine a T1 nudge of someone's tyre...the whole lower plane will detach?

I think this whole design leaves a lot of room for tech talk.
From the point of crash prone and disassembling I would say that the "new" location is much better. Carbon fibre is well flexible, so if they hit someone the first flap will flex. So as in the past the whole wing will go, but much later if they have contact in the middle.

Flexing the front wing flaps will still be a core point of development, this is where Merc excelled last year, in the Merc the whole stack of flaps just bend away. If I am not mistaken the test procedure is still static weights on the sides but maybe all flaps and see if it flexes down. If they now just hang the wind on the second flap, this is much more easy to get the wing out of the wind by rotating it and still have the lateral stiffness to pass the test.
