Seems a strange argument from Stu, almost like FIAs, if you don’t agree with the rules being broken to award the WDC, then it is you at fault.

There were inconsistencies in race direction throughout the year, sometimes benefiting Mercedes/Lewis, sometimes benefiting Red Bull/Max. Either side only ever call-out the decisions that they feel disadvantaged their team/driver (be that as fans or as teams).
Perspective - Understanding that sometimes the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view.

Mario Andretti is a big Max supporterever since Max entered F1. Not surprising the many times he has sided with Max so this says nothing really.
The only folks advocating that Masi did anything especially wrong are Lewis supporters as far as I can tell. Others are really not too fussed at all about a minor procedural anomaly, the overtake for the race win did happen on the track after all -- "we went motor racing, it is called a car race" to quote the Race Director.
So Carlos, Stroll, Vettel, Zack and the entire Sky Team are Ham supporters?
And a three month long investigation is being done for an issue not worth fussing about. Sure...

No, simply not. And I offer myself as evidence number 1.

It would be nice not to put people in groups unnecessarily, and not to make things black and white unnecessarily. But less drama and hence less fun that way, I suppose.

I guess that it depends on which circle of people you are surrounded by… On mine, a lot of fans that are indifferent to Hamilton (not a supporter, not against him) agree that what Masi did was wrong 🤷🏽

Oh, a correction, you mean to quote the race director's pupet masters!!

The full conversation goes as follows:

Wheatley: “Obviously those lapped cars, you don’t need to let them go… right the way around and let them catch up with the back of the pack.”

Masi: “Understood.”

Wheatley: “You need to let them go…”

Masi: “Understood, just give me a second.”

Wheatley: “…and then we got a motor race on our hands.”

Masi: “Understood.”

You don’t have to watch it, you know.
There are plenty of other sports that you could follow.

You also only appear to notice decisions that go against your favoured driver, the decisions that go the other way always seem to be fair and true.
That’s the definition of bias and most everyone has it in some degree

"Yeah, but they can't do anything," Verstappen told UK newspaper The Guardian, when asked for his thoughts about the investigation.

Looks like Max acknowledges that there was issues in the last race :?:

So is it not moot point ? :)
Exactly. A close season, some aggressive driving from both resulting in penalties and some odd race direction, and a worthy champion in MV. :)

As Wheatley said on the radio, he wanted MV to have a chance to execute his tyre strategy for the Abu Dhabi GP in particular (of the many Grands Prix) and the Race Director helped get at least some, unfortunately not all, of the lapped cars out of the way for that to happen.

Yes, we all agree that it was a great season and Max deserves the championship.

I only disagree with the way they manipulated the championship

Decisions went both ways, there is no use attributing to malice what can be attributed to incompetence.

If you recall correctly, at the Saudi Arabian GP, Masi was so fixated on Verstappen and Hamilton that he clear forget about Ocon and that Ocon would be restarting from pole. That may explain Masi's choice to only unlap some cars between those two rather than unlap all the cars.

It is also likely Masi was busy clearing the Latifi car and didn't realise that Verstappen had a tyre offset with respect to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix race final lap. Simply he wanted to have no lapped cars (at least somewhat, unfortunately for Sainz) and a racing finish.

Thats what fia are trying to do with their investigation. To find it it was incompetence or malice. I doubt they will declare malice even of it was that.
