With Williams going for an All blue colour, I guess it means alpine will be pink..

I would be nice to see it painted with double tone color. That mix the pink and blue depending on the light

Pink, blue, red and white? bit like yellow, orange, red and white of the ING Renault... not the best choices to combine

Alpine will not have based their livery design on what Williams decided to do. How would they have known ahead of time anyway?

Besides, it's not like you can't have only one team running a particular colour.

I’m trying to remember but I’m sure the FIA introduced a rule that teams can’t have similar colours. And any colour change must be approved. So I’m sure Williams have gone mainly blue.. because alpine are mainly pink…

If your manufacturing materials allow you to run the engine hotter (>140°C) you can use less airflow restrictive radiators, and / or smaller radiators, added to a superior thermal efficiency derived from lesser losses to the cylinders walls and the combustion chamber, because of the reduced delta of temperature.
All very well, but the maximum pressure of the coolant system is 3.75 bar per Technical Regulations:
7.4 Coolant header tanks
Any header tank used on the car with a water based coolant must be fitted with an FIA
approved pressure relief valve which is set to a maximum of 3.75 bar gauge pressure, details
of the relief valve may be found in the Appendix to the Technical Regulations. If the car is not
fitted with a header tank, an alternative position must be approved by the FIA.

So, you can avoid all of that by using a glycol based coolant? 🤔

Would love to see that rule. If true it's not a bad idea. Last year the Merc, Aston, and Alpha Tauri looked identical front on.

Having said that, I'm willing to put money on the fact that the Alpine will contain a fair amount of blue because a) it's their signature colour, and b) the team has a strong French identity which was reinforced by last year's livery. They will find a way to incorporate the pink into their brand, not just paint the whole car with it like Force India did.

As F1 is basically racing billboards, I don't think this is much of an issue. Teams race to be noticed, they need to stand out from the other nine on the grid. You don't do this to be "one of the blue cars", so, they try to pick a livery that sets them apart from the rest of the field.

Unless you're Williams of course, who have some weird love for blandness over the past few years.

The problem with this type of paint is that it requires many layers for it to work, teams won't want to put that much weight high up on the car if they don't have to. IIRC Mclaren dropped the chrome paint due to it's extra weight.
