Williams FW44

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

How can Williams do that, while Aston Martin's body was not exactly petite? And the McLaren.. pretty Obese.
Mclaren’s and Williams, as mentioned are similar. I want to see the Mclaren on track vs a studio / render that was missing pieces. I suspect the Mclaren looks more slender when it shows up at Barcelona / Bahrain.

Aston stuffed everything in the sidepods, so it’s almost a complete departure.

Williams might have taken advantage of their CFD / Wind tunnel time and Dorian Capital $$$. We will see.
I don't see it like this. Mclaren side pod is much lower (compare to height of cockpit opening it's like six inches lower) and much fatter at the mid-line as a consequence. Also Mclaren has the huge cannon exit.

The water is kind enough to show the airflow on the edge of the floor ... the strakes of the tunnels extend quite far ahead and over them

Mercedes (style?) gearbox with the pull-rods attaching at the mid-line so that they are out of the way of the floor.

Were they suppose to start receiving the merc gearbox this year?

Why the brake duct cover continues inboard well after the cooling openings finish seems odd.

Just taped up to keep temperatures higher given the conditions while they were driving.
