Aus der Schräge wächst an der Oberseite ein 2022 seltenes Leitblech. Mercedes nutzt hier die Spiegelbefestigung als Ursprung.
Von den Vorderreifen verwirbelte Luft wird hier aggressiv nach außen, weg vom eigenen Auto geleitet.
Genau das sollen die neuen Regeln eigentlich verhindern.

In order to understand why Mercedes is confident that it is legal you have to see the mirror housing and mirror stay in front view. The deflector can be regarded as part of the mirror stay connecting the mirror housing to the side pod.

All the Kyle Engineers videos together. The Merc looks a nice package again. Ferrari may be decent but their (and Williams) FW confuses me - for feeding the tunnels a Merc or Aston solution looks better. There must be benefit for the wheel wakes.

Thanks Josh, really interested to hear what he has to say about the Merc (only one that I have not seen so far).

Can’t wait for good pictures of the RedBull, and for Alpine to release anything at all.

The one great thing so far is that there are discernible differences between cars; lots of interesting solutions and lots to digest and talk about.

Being a former Merc employee he was never going to be harsh like Bsport was about the Williams

The Red Bull looks Alpha Tauri-like in the long downwashy sidepods. The have a Merc style unloaded inboard front wing and a pull rod front suspension. There are more differences than I feared would be the case - but it's mostly upperbody and front wing where we see differences. Not hugely more difference than was the case last year.

Suprised no one is daring to question Merc. They have played it safe and stuck with what they know. They dont have anything on surface that other teams cant copy. Williams have more interesting features including the vortex generating mirror stay which some people claim is genius.
The diverging concepts front to back is amazing. 3 front wing types, 3 sidepod philosophy, differing suspension and we havent even sewn much of the rear.
All of this and supposedly they will be within a second of each other, cant wait.

I don't know why people think Mercedes are playing safe!? As far as I see they have a really tidy looking package with some neat innovations. Obviously its launch spec and only lap times at the first few races will tell.

I think because the side pods somewhat resemble previous that people assume Mercedes are playing it safe.

Mercedes dominate this sport for how many... 7-8 years? It's not Mercedes who need to do revolution imo.
