I think the same account has reported that the alpine has been on track already, so it's likely that they struggled to get the engine started and that's what he means by "it would not start" rather than simply it did not start at all:

Apparently there are two Alpine cars in Barcelona:
1. The mock up car for filming and marketing purposes.
2. A real one (pink livery) that should've been clocking some laps.
That is a fresher one, but is that a credible source?

Yeah, he now replied to somebody that they completed only half of the test. Well, he seems not to have a clear mind about it. He is relatively reliable though.

Well I believe it was a bit of a mistranslation; what he actually said was that the engine "would not start". If I told you my car's engine would not start this morning, it doesn't mean I never got it to work after an initial struggle.

Exactly. And judging by the camera & photographer seen in Fernando’s story, they were shooting some promo stuff by the mock-up. Funny how those guys are pretending to work on the car
