Mark Hughes from trackside wrote: The way Verstappen is driving this car is highly distinctive. It’s like he is maximising the venturis by keeping their angle to the ground as constant as possible - so really smooth, early on the brakes then early on the gas. I wonder if he’s just worked it out sooner and before too long this will be how everyone drives them. But it’s a big contrast to how he drove the high rake car and to how say, Leclerc is driving this car.
Verstappen always drove like that. :wtf:

In recent years Honda always did a report every day after a session. Now it is RBR who does the report.

Barcelona Pre-Season Shakedown: Day One .....................

Max said: “I think the car looks good but the most important thing is that it is fast, and that’s what we are trying to see. We wanted to get laps in today to get used to the car and to get a general understanding about how it’s behaving. As well as that, we needed the mileage to see how the parts held up. Everything worked pretty well, so it was a good start and a positive day. Tonight, we will look into things in more detail and see what we need to do to improve. Checo will drive tomorrow and then I am looking forward to getting back in the RB18 on Friday.”

Oracle Red Bull Racing CEO and Team Principal Christian Horner said: “It was a very short off-season, but it’s great to be back at the track and see the number one on the car, it’s been a long time since it’s been on an F1 car and our target this year is to keep it there. We are excited to get this new era of the sport underway and see the car run on track in anger for the first time.

I agree, in free Air Max has always driven like that. Peter Windsor even did a video on it last year.

reportedly, the RBR rear wing has been plagued with similar issues to last season. They had to replace the rear wing upper plane (Drs one), hence no sponsor logo was visible yesterday.

The sponsor logo was visible on the back of the DRS plane yesterday, not on the front. Similar to this shot.

I see that, but people in the paddock reported on this development, I think it is credible

Perez stopped on track and caused a red flag.

Perez hasn't been back on track yet. I fear his day is done.

Maybe they are installing those new parts that arrived?

I think it is over for the day. At best Checo might have the last hour of track time.

We hear from the Red Bull camp that there is a problem with the engine. That's why the car doesn't drive.

Perez is getting ready. It shouldn't be long at Red Bull. The problem was around the engine. The fuel pump - like Haas.
