Mercedes W13

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

So Russel's saying they're behind Ferrari and McLaren.

Everyone can't be the underdog. Binotto says Ferrari are outsiders. McLaren says they are trying to fight for titles in 2024.

Unfortunately for George, Mercedes are the prohibitive favorite until they stop winning. Besides, Lewis says his team doesn't make mistakes when it comes to the car. They'll be fast as usual when the time comes.

We’ve never heard that one before.

Technically, he’s correct, judging by the timing board. But he’s just doing the PR thing. None of the top teams have even remotely started to do any true performance running.

Probably a discussion best suited for the team thread, at any rate.

Mercedes running aero rakes on the diffuser area this morning. No sign of a new floor.

Floor stay added to the Mercedes, probably to stop it flexing which could be causing the porpoising

If im not mistaken, the porpoising issue has been relatively quiet today? Be funny if Mercedes amongst other teams fixed this issue very straightforwardly, contrary to Sam Collins initial thoughts.
