I know your hate McLaren, but give it a rest. You already posted the times in another thread.

The McLaren has definitely improved, and is only running an interim diffuser. My belief is that they're now at least level if not slightly ahead of Ferrari and Renault so they should be in contention for making it through to Q1. Brawn, Toyota and Williams with their full DDDs are still ahead, as are Red Bull.

I also think the McLaren and Lewis are both better in the race than they are in qualifying, so if they can get into Q1 then we could see them scoring some respectable points.

Expect more major aero updates and a fully opened up diffuser in the next race or two which should move them further up the grid.

I dont hate MacLaren at all* and if I were to "hate" any team it would be Ferrari! [-X

Regarding the times posted in the other 2 topics, if you read them you'll note my comments where specific to those threads as where the drivers highlighted.

*Im one of those fans who thinks the maFIA have it in for MacLaren and wish they'd quite trying to shaft them at every opportunity!

Okay, sorry. Am having a bad morning, and am getting sick of everyone (especially the FIA) dumping on McLaren :P

Yeah they lied, it was really stupid, and they've suffered from being excluded from the results. That's been the punishment in other instances where the FIA and stewards have ruled differently to what a team were claiming. That should have been the end of it.

Instead the FIA seem to want to drive McLaren out of F1.

Ummm.... Uhhh....
Now I get it. Your design is deemed legal or not depending on whether it is like Williams or Toyota.
Obviously if your design is similar to Williams or Toyota, there is a good chance it will be legal. Common sense. The FIA approved the Toyota and Williams designs pretty much from the very beginning.

You still missed my point, which is that Renault and Red Bull are bitter, and their comments sound like sour grapes. Charlie Whiting has said that their diffuser designs were not even double decker designs, so obviously that means the comments from Renault and Red Bull have been misleading. Instead of owning up to it and admitting that their designs were wrong and illegal in the first place, Red Bull and Renault continue to claim they were treated "unfairly" because they had "similar" designs.

Until you can see the actual design it is a matter of sticking to Charlie's view or teams view.
You don't know how similar or different their design was. You also don't know how CW expressed his view on their designs which also may had its influence.
I believe there's much more to this story.

I doubt if CW is a perfect witness of truth in these matters. To begin with the man is not even an engineer,
merely a former spanner-man with Brabham who is well aware of who is paying him and why.

You don't need to be an engineer in order to differentiate whether or not a diffuser is of a double decker design.

Let's stick to what we know, instead of contemplating what might be. Fact is the FIA deemed the Renault and Red Bull designs illegal last year. Fact is the Williams and Toyota diffusers were deemed legal from the very beginning since last year (and likely so was the Brawn design). Therefore the Renault and Red Bull designs differed in some way as to make them illegal from the 'Diffuser 3' designs.

I think it would be rather naive not to contemplate a political agenda behind everything coming from FIA these days.

I think it would be rather naieve to think that ALL FIA decisions have a political agenda.

Maybe if Renault/RBR would have submitted tech drawings/models to the FIA instead of calling CW's cell phone while he was on the golf course, things may have turned out differently?

Either there or perhaps while being tied down in MrM's dungeon, wherever most likely, Conc?

Either way, there has not been enough fact released to the public to know for sure.

Lets hope the ICA releases their statement soon!

You seem to have changed your mind about this forum. I thought you were disgusted with Tomba and the rest of us?
