He must be very good, since McLaren signed him.
It’s just for testing, with the 35M. New FIA rules allow this. I’m just keen to see him in F1 machinery.
When does Mclarens new driver in-loop sim come online, last year when Ferrari's did they spent countless weekends thrashing the SF-71H round Fiarano to check correlation, why is a bell ringing in my head that this year the new sim comes online and testing the MCL35M (even letting on there is a dedicated 35M testing programme) is the perfect opportunity for sim correlation.
No idea on that, but you could very well be on to something there.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

Autosport has Lando 1.33.1 with C2. The difference from the top was 1.4 and had brake problems. Considering the large difference between C2 ,C4 of Leclerc and C5 of Verstappen and take out that brake problem and the car might be much closer than people think and maybe even equal.

For me, the scary thing is they saw the problem and brought in parts to fix it (if that info is correct) but the solution did not work. That tells me they did not really understand what was wrong.
I'm pretty sure the team is able to fix it within a week, but unfortunately they can only test it in FP1. Hopefully 2nd fix works as it should and does not cost us car performance...

Another thing is they were not able to do any longer stints this week, so we have to hope the car does not have anymore bugs which could not be discovered while doing short stints. It sucks they were not able to do any race sims.

As for the car performance I have no idea where does the team fit. BOT and MSC did faster lap times today than Lando on C3, but that does not have to mean much. Do you guys have any good laps which could tell us where to put McLaren? After this test I just hope that they are in top4 teams at least.

So virtually quickest on C3 and used in this case with compromised laps and running time also with brake issues. Not that bad then at all

They can test it in the factory. Make another brake assembly on the test bench, spin it to right RPMs, deploy the brakes and feed in the hot air expected for Bahrain. If anyone can do it, it is an F1 team. Ofcourse it is not 100% accurate, but i would say it is close enough to make sure that brakes are prepared for the race.
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows

Ooh interesting on the post F1 show Sam Collins is in the pitlanes and some teams are doing pit stop practices and mentions that Mclaren have some thing "Secret" with their pitstop equipment and was wondering if he could show it or they had put it away (he was around the alfa and AM garages when he said this)

From Seidl’s interview, a permanent fix will be in place for the weekend. It’s only about time being lost due to the issues. The good thing is that it didn’t keep them in the garage all day, they worked around the challenge and definitely still got important data. Fingers crossed all will be well by FP1.

Interesting that even on the second hardest tyre and conservative brakes McLaren was only 1.4 seconds off VER on the quickest compound I think that Mac maybe very close to Ferrari and red bull if not equal let’s just hope the brake issues are fixed there’s talk about weather mclaren can actually do a race distance with the current brakes setup

Oh, thanks 👍 strange that autosport/motorsport.com + Sky got it wrong.

Per Sam collins just now as a follow up Mclaren have introduced new Pit guns that have an optical indicator to tell when the wheel nut is fully tightened and he says no other team on the grid has them.

Where can I find information regarding the time difference between C1,C2,C3,C4 and C5?
