From the running on board I saw, the McLaren is beginning to scrape the ground at much lower speeds than any other car so that would make sense.CjC wrote: ↑13 Mar 2022, 09:36As with everything in F1, a compromise is needed, I’m thinking running the floor lower to the ground for better aero will give more laptime than laptime found riding the kerbs?
Or can anyone suggest otherwise?

It’s Autosports subscription content so I can’t quote the exact paragraph.
Regarding Mclaren within the article it says that Mclaren arguably has the porpoising under control the best so can run the car lower to the growing for aero but Lando says that he can’t attack the kerbs like the other drivers can.
There's an article from the race on Lando's strange steering, they claim it's linked to the new front wing. I hope it's what you're referring to.Marc.W wrote: ↑13 Mar 2022, 10:59From the running on board I saw, the McLaren is beginning to scrape the ground at much lower speeds than any other car so that would make sense.CjC wrote: ↑13 Mar 2022, 09:36As with everything in F1, a compromise is needed, I’m thinking running the floor lower to the ground for better aero will give more laptime than laptime found riding the kerbs?

I'm curious about the constant speed runs I saw, Lando was turning the wheel very aggressively on turn in during, creating a lot of slip on the front tyres
If you are referring to a cooling duct for the radiator in the t-tray, that was inaccurate.mclaren111 wrote: ↑13 Mar 2022, 12:38I heard Sam Collins saying McLaren have some interesting things under their Nose...

Wow, something not complete drivle coming from Gary Anderson? colour me shocked, that was actually an interesting readGround Effect wrote: ↑13 Mar 2022, 13:12There's an article from the race on Lando's strange steering, they claim it's linked to the new front wing. Exactly! I wish we had this version of Gary Anderson more regularly...Marc.W wrote: ↑13 Mar 2022, 18:37Wow, something not complete drivle coming from Gary Anderson? colour me shocked, that was actually an interesting readGround Effect wrote: ↑13 Mar 2022, 13:12There's an article from the race on Lando's strange steering, they claim it's linked to the new front wing. That damned brake issue. There are so many good things about this car which were hidden in the shadows of the problems they had in Bahrain.
djos wrote: ↑15 Mar 2022, 01:33I'd rather have something that can be understood and fixed, unlike the Merc car which looked like a real handful. Ultimately easy cars to drive are usually easy to drive faster than difficult handling cars.
Other than the brake issues, the MCL36 never had serious porposing issues, rode the bumpy Bahrain circuit well, and was quick and reliable in Barcelona / Bahrain.
Im very optimistic that the MCL36 is a top 3 car.
