I do hope Ferrari is fastest if not the equal fast car.
Mercedes has a fast car, until they tame it Ferrari should gain wins early to fight for the championship
I have a sneeky feeling Merc are sandbagging. :|
I don't think they are sandbagging..

At the same time I don't think they are in as much trouble as Merc themselves are making out with the new regs it will be interesting how quick they sort them out. But thing they will do it pretty quickly if them get the sims to match up with the on track performance this year there is less to draw on from previous years designs.

I am an McLaren fan, but i would prefer Ferrari to be at front and fighting McLaren along them as their battle is genuine unlike the joke of Redbull and Mercedes, i cant wait to see the historic battle with Ferrari-McLaren duo, good luck guys and let the best team and drivers win, lets beat those other two together.

Mercedes and Red Bull aren’t a joke and I don’t think their rivalry is either. They’ve been great over the past 12 years for a reason.

Also, I’m not driving and neither are you, so let’s slow down on “beating them together”. That doesn’t make sense.

Marko seems to think the same.

Only FP1 but the push laps on the mediums were...encouraging.

Encouraging signs, but I won’t allow myself to feel any optimism until after qualifying if qualifying actually ends up going well for Ferrari….

Just don’t tell that to the bets I’ve been putting on Ferrari throughout the entire off season.

Team must be OK with race pace because they haven't done a long run in FP2. Almost all short runs/one lap push.

They have done only a handful of laps yeah. Probably they feel alright about the setup for race, after testing last week, and didn't need it.

Leclerc was cruising & didn’t even hit the apex in the final corner in one of his laps. That Ferrari has much more pace but maybe so does Red Bull. Difficult to say where they stand before Q3. But fighting for podiums is almost a sure thing now. Whether poles or wins is possible will be known in a day. The lack of long runs in FP2 surprised me.

I guess they have done plenty of that last week.

Race pace looks worrying here. In line with Mercedes who are struggling badly. I hope this was just limited to Sainz who was struggling with the car today
