I thought it a strange comment too. Merc had no strategy. Infact a poor one keeping Rus out on tyres that were 3secs a lap slower. It was just fortunate 2 cars retired ahead of them. The merc did nothing all race.

I was suprised max wanted to pass in t1 everytime
I was more impressed how they both managed to keep it clean. Something that Max and Lewis werent able to achieve.
Ferrari were fuel cheating in 2019 and didn't deserve to win then, hopefully they are on the up and up this season.Schippke wrote: ↑20 Mar 2022, 18:49Well, after all that... as a Tifosi, this result brings much joy! Redemption and recovery for Charles for Bahrain 2019! Sainz did a good job and was able to pick-up the pieces from the Red Bull implosion, but what a way to start.
More so, a great effort from K-Mag (and Haas) to take 5th and Bottas to recover in the Alfa back to 6th... and a quiet mention to Zhou for taking the final point in 10th; Great day for anything Ferrari powered it has to be said.
Literally not a fact.
Those are still restricted. After 1 race they’ve burned (pardon the pun) through 1 set.chrisc90 wrote: ↑20 Mar 2022, 18:55Id say a MGU-K or CE issue rather than ICERestomaniac wrote: ↑20 Mar 2022, 18:52Well that’s gunna lead to penalties later on for RedBull no doubt.
I agree. Mercedes was comfortably placed, they were happy to use it as a test session until the last 7 laps when opportunity came knocking on their door.
I suspect it might be fuel related, to both go within a lap of each other, so close to the end?Restomaniac wrote: ↑20 Mar 2022, 18:56Yep. If RedBull power is fast but fragile they may have to turn them down and seeing as we no longer have qualifying modes.
You still have to find the issue and fix it, and you have no guarantee the fix won't cost you performance. Not to mention, if memory serves the new rules require approval from the other teams.
Still open for development until Sept 22 thoughRestomaniac wrote: ↑20 Mar 2022, 18:59Those are still restricted. In a full race with no SC/VSC it could be a minute, nobody is arguing with that. They were safe in their pocket of 3rd best to do whatever with strat!chrisc90 wrote: ↑20 Mar 2022, 18:57I thought it a strange comment too. Merc had no strategy. Race strategy is about every action / choice you do influencing the race result. If you have power deficit or maybe a less better car, then you have to excel where is due. Today the pit was cold and focused on any points available and this has to be noted. Don't you see or like it I can't do anything for You. Thanks
There was a screenshot of Toto's notebook during the broadcast. Went something like:
