I will not say anything about the 1-2. CL drove an excellent race. CS was nowhere near MV and CL today. LH is a 7 times WDC. He just destroyed RUS today.

However, I will focus on BOT. I really like him, as a person. But I cannot stop thinking that Albon, or Gio in that car would easily be in p4/5.
Impressed by Zhou.

I cannot understand the total blackout of McLaren...

Lol i understand how racing works thanks. But you dont try the same thing 3 or 4 times in a row and expect a different result.
It was twice, I believe, that is the least a driver should be allowed to try, don't you think?
It 3 times the exact same move, leclerc could just hang wide, cut across and get better acceleration through turn 2 and 3 and repass easily.
Yeah, it was not good from Max.
he was complaining like a child (Ted put it very well on live tv)

A reminder that F1 is still in the hybrid era. I'm reminded of its first year...
Yep. If RedBull power is fast but fragile they may have to turn them down and seeing as we no longer have qualifying modes.
I suspect it might be fuel related, to both go within a lap of each other, so close to the end?
It looked like 3 altogether different types of failures to me

So verdict on the racing or still to early to call it a success? Im not sure that last years cars wouldn’t have produced the same spectacle personally.
I think the drivers were a bit tentative today with the new cars, might take a few races before a clear judgement can be made about the racing. The good thing is we saw a pretty good battle between Leclerc and Verstappen at the front.

Fuel pump issues may be the cause from twitter
Fuel pump issues related to E10 when the car is low on fuel?
Wasn’t that being posited as a possibility during testing?
Horner saying they aren't sure if its the lift pump of pickup. Need to look more into it.

Max's steering was related to being dropped in the pitstop bent a trackrod. Seems odd but there we go

Not much has changed really. Granted still only 1st race, but we still had huge gaps and 1/3 the field lapped with 15-20 laps to go.

Bit of a procession still. Certainly nothing worth sticking it on repeat for.
Yeah, that’s my thinking too. In fairness, this circuit’s not been stellar for racing but we’ll soon see.

The cars can follow closer, BUT it looked very cumbersome to even turn the car. Like i said before it looked like a very heavy tanks and looked clumsy.
Max was just dive bombing like he always did, nothing new...he was so desperate to pass them

Turns out it was fuel related on red bulls, lift pump issues. They changed them in park ferme post qualifying last night apparently, the alpha tauri was mgu-k according to Horner

Nice, but a bit predictable no? I DRS you here, you DRS me down the road.

It's a good thing F1TV finally got hold of some good commentators this year who aren't absolute morons such as 80% of sky crew, so I finally no longer have to listen to them. Pff, what a relief. Ted is the biggest clown of them all, followed by hill and herbert.

Funny how Ben Edwards and Jolyon Palmer are able to stay nearly perfectly neutral despite also both being British.

DRS only seemed effective for redbull, beyond them I didn't see it gaining teams much

Lapped cars are being allowed to overtake! Well then...
FIA are shameless
Why? This is the way it has always been. Seems Masi's shennanigans last year muddled up your understanding of the rules.

I think you misunderstand, shameless that they can't get the rules right at this moment, other moments, but change them the one time it has the most impact.

Not convinced it was the cars. I think the tyres and the teams' lack of experience with them played the bigger part.

I think we can now stop blaming Masi, after the FIA report, as FIA did not blame Masi, so it must be somone higher up who got it done through Masi, and then made him the scapegoat.
