Max made a mistake on the penultimate corner and Checo beats him by 0.001s lol

Alonso was going so fast that this isn´t totally unexpected. A shame though, especially as he´s blaming "hydraulics"

Was Sainz going quicker than Leclerc? It seems the red came like 2s before the crosses the line

Does anyone else notice the lack of DRS for Verstappen in the third DRS zone (turn 8-9)?
Half throttle is no throttle

Max could be in 1.17 without that mistake.

Theyve removed the drs zone before the fast chicane

100% something wrong with the car. It just shut off by itself on corner entry, so not a driver error.

Alonso got stuck in 4th gear, camera showed he was trying to turn & slow but the car wouldn’t. Shame ! Alpine has pace & Alonso was doing amazing. Pink middle sector, was one of the quickest, maybe not pole but he could have been 4-5th or higher & would have been a handful in the race ! Probably gearbox change & he has to take a penalty as well !

Race director ruined the competition/spectacle there. He should have waited a few seconds for a pole contender(Sainz) to finish his lap. Russel also got jeopardised

@sunny1304r yeah(he lost 0.34s to Checo on S3). And I think I saw a delta of -0.1s after Carlos crossed the line.

No, just no. A car is in the wall where another car could easily end up. The red flag goes up asap.

Is this said with ironic intent?

Don’t think it even warrants that. Max was off the racing line. Granted moved a fraction over left, no way impeded him.

Same as Russel twisting about them in FP and was nowhere close.
Talking about stewards that will check your underwear for compliance?
Guess it’s now ok not to follow race directors instructions?
I think my point is that race directors seem to be pretty strict with the rules, so if impeding was found they'll penalize.
