As I read somewhere a badly designed chassis might well be the prime cause contributing the most to the Mercedes ills.

There was some chatter a few weeks ago regarding the exhaust layout on the W13, my thoughts were that it made it would be very difficult to build a rigid enough bell-housing with the turbo-manifold layout that they are using (‘Medusa’-like).

Wonder what additional weight he's carrying. (for aero reasons, apparently). So can only be additional pitot tubes underfloor. But seems a pointless exercise since they havent brought any upgrades and same spec floor as they used in testing.

Orrrr..... its just a excuse to why he's off the pace.

Seems logical, after all ... so they`re now focusing on 2 fronts: race pace (hence NOR out-qualified them here at Melbourne) and use the following races until Silverstone as a test session in order to learn and gather data regarding their issues (porpoising and stuff) ...

That little weight won't have made a difference for Lewis; the car is worse than a diva now, it's a rattle-snake!

Tobi Gruner estimates it at 1.5kg so that's quite a bit!

That's about six hundredths not enough to get Norris. It might be a bigger issue in the race of course! Half a tenth for 50 or so laps that's near 3 seconds of race time.

It would be amusing if the Merc would make a rattling and hissing sound as it bounced along the circuit

It's not pointless if it gives them data that they can't get any other way. You can't upgrade a car until you know what it's doing.

Orrrr..... it's just an excuse to have a dig at Hamilton.

No digs.

Surely if the car is the same as what it was in testing, they will already have the air flow data on it

If they are running different setups compared to testing, it’s not a stretch to think they need to get new data.
