Great result for the team, p4 and p7 with barely any updates. Ripping lap from Lando. Dan obviously didn't get the best out of his last run after a great 1st Q3 run.

All to play for tomorrow.

So much for all the misery lately. Great improved weekend so far!

Surprising to see them that high on S3 considering the low speed weakness.

Why was Ricciardo 3 tenths down?
Daniel said after the race that he was confused by the last set of tires not working, reckoned he was a second slower than he should have been.
Track was much cooler on the last run, likely didn't generate enough heat going in. Shame, because he's right on Lando's pace now, which is great to see.

Most of the low speed is tyre temps from what they're saying, hopefully they can claw a bit more of that back as they refine the front brake ducts and the rest will come just with more downforce overall.

Hopefully a sign that they've got their new suspensions working... [-o<

Hey Phillip, always appreciate the insights…

I remember you saying there is a revised front strake config in production, is that something we should expect come Imola… or longer down the line

I do wonder how the design to production phase is for Mclaren with an offsite wind tunnel which supposedly has lower technological capabilities, I’m sure the process would be far more efficient with the new on-site tunnel.

If this sort of improvement can be gained by understanding the new car and applying better setups how much will be gained by the upgrades which are to come? This new era is very interesting and shock results should come as no shock! Well done everybody, while I was optimistic of climbing the grid, to have gone to row 2 only two races after the Bahrain nightmare was beyond even my optimistic belief. How are we looking for race pace relative to Mercedes and Alpine who should be our main competition tomorrow?

Can it be possible the first update will give us the ability to be competitive at the front on occasion like last year with the new regs?

Most stuff seems to come about 3-4 weeks after they end up on the production floor, I assume a lot of that is jigging and QC mainly, wouldn't think more than a few days for layup and claving.

Was there ever an update on Checo potentially getting a penalty?
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

No official but seems AMuS via Tobi Gruner seems to have at least seen some telemetry because he seems sure that perez wont cop a penalty, ie he slowed down enough.

I am also wondering if the interim fix has added significant extra weight as well. The hubs are visibly bulkier now, and it looks like its made out some sort of metallic material as opposed to mostly carbon fiber as it was before.
