Don't know if there were any drastic changes for demo days, but in 2010 IIRC Ferrari had filming day at Fiorano where they ran their "Bspec" car with EBD which debuted in valencia.

People on twitter are saying it’s an optical illusion, but to me the rear of the sidepod seems to slope down - more akin to the Alpine.

Even if this is accurate which is highly doubtful , the Ferrari drivers have created ca. 2mil € in damages to both cars so far , compared to zero for Red Bull and Mercedes , so if it is 10mil then Ferrari has already wasted 1/5th of that repairing the cars

I don't think so. The image shared by @PPS91556715 shows a full side profile which is the same as we have seen all season

What are you talking about? Why are you creating numbers out of thin air? Even a total write off which Mick had in Jeddah where everything except chassis and PU needed to be changed, cost 1 million at max. (there was an article about it).
Ferrari’s crashes mostly led to suspension and wing damages.

Also, do you think that RBR’s DNFs with hardware failure didn’t cost money? They even had a burning car.

I find it hard to believe that of the 140 mil only 10 is R&D, sure operational and manufacturing costs take up a fair chunk but that seems way too little.
Last season Red Bull kept development hot up until mid season i have no reason to believe they'll be any different this time.

Official picture from Monza; nothing jumping out at me as being notably different than anything we've seen already, but that doesn't mean there's nothing new.

It is not really hard to believe indeed it sounds reasonable, even if its a little bit too low. I have the exact budget available from Ferrari in 2002.

Budget 443.8 Mio USD

The budget was split in :

R&D 35 Mio USD
Op. Costs Windtunnel 15.1 Mio USD
Chassis 4.1 Mio USD
Engine 185 Mio USD
Travel&Logistics 18 Mio USD
Car-Testing 88 Mio USD
Car-Race 28.5 Mio USD
Salaries 41.5 Mio USD
Drivers 44 Mio USD
Guests 9.7 Mio USD

Yes, this was the era of unlimited testing, no limitations to engines, almost 24/7(in Ferraris case)wind tunnel testing etc. and 20 years ago, but also the budget was more than 3 times higher than todays budgets are. And in terms of percentage of R&D budget F1 did not really change. And R&D budget was "only" 35 Mio USD with a budget more than 3 times higher.

I think 10 Mio. is not true, its probably 15 Mio. +/- 0.5 Mio. depending on the team itself, but it definetely not far away, unfortunately...

If you know that Ferrari has built 11 chassis in 2002 for 4,1 Mio. USD - these numbers indeed tell us that repairing costs of chassis often get exaggerated, even if carbon is more expensive today.

A filming day test just to test a rear wing seems like overkill to me, but this is the era of the budget cap I guess. I hope the data gathered turns out to be very useful

Apparently they also needed some footage without Kapersky on the car. But also they were supposedly doing more than testing the rear wing - also the Barcelona package was being validated.
