Finally confirmation of upgrades...and they are not playing it down either...

Yeah the tone of the quotes certainly did nothing to play down the suggestion that a major package of upgrades were coming.

Good to know some updates are coming- interesting that they said see if you can spot them in FP1 so likely to be quite visible changes too.

Would like to see us trim some drag in some way and get back to having a bit of straight line prowess.

Exciting weekend from a tech perspective for all teams this week you’d think.

The drag is seemingly because of the very high wings they have been forced to run with.

They have had the same spec rear wing since Jeddah presumely because the underfloor is not generating enough downforce and the high wings have been a coping mechanism.

If the floor brings a boost in downforce to the point where they can tame the wings down a bit, it should bring a decent step in performance adding the benefit from the downforce and the lower drag.

Andreas is playing it down though. He says that considering other teams are working to bring upgrades as well it will probably still be a fight to get points.

Yeah but he was playing down the outcome not the raft of upgrades, I just mean there was nothing to play down that they were bringing substantial amount of changes to Barcelona. WHich of course doesn't confirm that they are lol

Sala's tweet is info from here I posted last month, too many sites like that grab their info from here and parrot it from their 'secret sources' - it's hilarious.

I should start talking about the special double brake discs Mclaren are switching to with 4 brake pads and twinned front calipers.

Don’t forget the fan, like in Gordon Murray’s Brabham BT46 and obviously the new six wheeler concept, tribute to the Tyrrell P34.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

Sorry I mis-spoke, 3 front brake pads, they're just clamping the middle one between the two discs.

Do we know if McLaren has used all of their filming days?
