That's the old Ferrari style. Ferrari have a new mechanism this weekend (single arm,minimum blockage) which is like Mercedes and Red Bull.

Air flows from front to back and that larger long piece on Alpine sits above the wing. So it isn't causing any blockage to the wing. arguably the other sections of that DRS mechinism are as narrow or narrower than the others.

When RB, Ferrari and Merc have all transitioned to the new style, I can't help but think Alpine are missing a trick.

A new front wing? nope, just some microscopic tweaks to the FW endplate + a 0.05° increase for the diveplane angle of attack.
The rear drum vanes AOA has increased once again too (for the 3rd or 4th time) so the difference is noticeable now.

These last AOA increases at the front and the rear might be permanent, like the bigger beam wing which stayed on the car since Imola, not just track-related like this new rear wing.

I wonder what's that device placed at the base of the compressor intake since day 1... a heat sink for an electronic device? flow conditioners? vortex generators? sensors? A garfenafuten yuten-Juten exiobalexis?

Were they go about talking how floor upgrrades don't need a whole new floor they just change that section of the floor...
- "The front wing is the most expensive part. If you replace the whole wing, you're up to 100,000 euros."

The also talk about how Alpine will come in just under the CAP "Alpine is one of the teams that just about reached the allowed limit of $ 141.2 million."
