Can’t repost for some reason , but have a look in the McLaren team Thread , it’s in the last couple posts there

According to Ted Kravitz, Mercedes has solved their bouncing problems by... stiffening the floor. Looks like they were looking too deep and the solution was right under their nose - successfully applied to other teams before. #F1pl #EchaPadoku
Does stiffening add weight?

So, Lewis did the top speed on his 5th lap, which would have been his second fast lap in Q1. It wasn’t really a representative lap (1:22.639). Looks like he was behind a McLaren to start it, so likely had a tow for a bit.

I don’t have F1TV so cannot 100% confirm aside from that speed coming on his 5th lap of the session.

Better exit onto the straight, I suppose.
That would not account for a 13kph difference. That is just way too high imo.
I did notice lewis was sub par in sector 3 as well all weekend and such an advantage in top speed leads me to believe he was in fact running less downforce.
Doh!!!!
I read 334 vs 337...
Yeah I would agree that there is likely a bit of wing difference.
This is on their final flying lap.

George was 2 tenths up in sector 1 IIRC.

The tires, especially in Spain and given this weather (48 degrees asphalt temperature), are really overheating, so cheating that delta and keeping your softs cool can be an advantage for the flying lap.

Just a quick question

Lewis was 337 on the speed trap, Russell was 324

How is that possible, are they running different setups? Was that speed clocked for Lewis under DRS?
I was thinking this, has lewis gone for slightly less DF? which seems odd as the circuit is high df nature as the tyres are such limiting factor for the race. Looking at the fia max speeds it points that way, but i don;t see the straight being that powerful? we will see

Norris' slip stream
He was more than 5 seconds behind norris so i dont think that. I stand to be corrected if he got a cheeky tow.

Interesting but that is something he struggled with all weekend really. He was at times ahead of George after the first 2 sectors only to lose out in s3. Never seemed to have enough tire to put in a decent s3.

Extra 200 RPM for George may indicate better last corner exist or better up shifts ?

Yes

It also loses them peak DF as the floor won't flex sealing the floor, but that was what was causing the bouncing.

Miami spec car would have been fastest in sector 3, but now they are slow in that sector.

Miami spec car would have been slow in sector 1 and 2, but now they are at the same level as the fastest

So they haven't fixed it yet but gone the 'easy route' as Toto mentioned it, is that correct?
Mercedes AMG + Hamilton => dreamteam!
