No one is forced to use the tires from Q2 anymore… Everyone has free tire choice.
Oops I stand corrected. Forgot about that. 😁👍
Positive of the day… Daniel was on pace with Lando! That’s what we need… Let’s hope he carries that into the race
Yeah nice to see, hope he has a good race.

Ah that’s not ideal. I stupidly let out a sigh of relief after FP3 as well ](*,)

What happened to Landos last lap? He was 2 tenths up on Tsunoda then pitted… did he start the lap after the chequered flag so had to pit?

Bugger. 11th and 12th. On the positive side free tyre choice, but we are going to get mugged on the straights. 😑
Already not a part of the rules anymore. Has been gone all year.

Straight line speed is shocking. Didn’t expect them to be this slow
Yep forgot about that lol. Bloody painful being so slow in the main straight. How is Alpine able to run such a skinny rear wing. Impressive.

Pisses me off that we got beaten by Ferrari's B team. 😑
Ferrari’s B-Team? Haas? We outqualified Haas

Do you think the newest Wing Tunnel (which I hope being newer is gonna outdate the opposition) and the newest Simulator are gonna give Mclaren the ability to create first place cars? Is that what creates that huge handicap?

Mclaren has to give it their all to arrive at the top as they don't belong in the midfield.

And the Alfa😂

More concerning is Vettel…. Is he just a specialist here or are Aston taking steps ahead of Mclaren as well now??

I meant Red Bulls. It's late and I need to stop drinking 🤣

He made it to the flag… He aborted the lap, but not sure why… Maybe a mistake and loss enough time that he knew he wasn’t going to improve

I think it depends on the circuit. All of those teams were so far behind in Monaco and Imola.

Are all the panicking fans feeling calmer now? 😅
Laughing at people for jumping to conclusions after FP1 and FP2 and you did the same after FP3 😅
Hopefully we can get some points tomorrow, get ahead on tyre management.

I'm not sure we can do much tomorrow Seerix. The car is losing a lot of time on straights I mean a huge amount and it bothers me how Mclaren didn't manage to solve it when they brought the largest upgrade package than all in Spain.

I have a feeling we are gonna have the same problems in Spa and Monza unless they find a way to reduce that drag and Mercedes do their job they did the last decade and bring an engine that is on par or better than the opposition.

On another note there are many GPs like Monaco and Imola who I expect Mclaren to shine.

Hopefully we are just fixing things bit by bit instead of making it more difficult trying to do it all at once starting with low speed corner grip which you can make up alot of time. Then working on the top end speed in the near future.

Cheers.
Thanks, he looked like he was going to make it even though it wasn’t a PB.
Shame but Mclaren aren’t fast enough it seems. Work to do

No, those 2 won’t magically make the team build a winning car… Will it help to get there? Yes… Obviously it will help them build a better car.

The handicap today is primarily a result of been overspend by the likes of Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes for close to a decade… The infrastructure built, the tools, knowledge learned and brain power that comes from it not only creates a gap, but builds upon it season after season.

But, even if the Budget Cap equalizes things in terms of resources and the new tools (Wind Tunnel and Simulator) will help to fight the top teams, that is by no means an assurance… Just look at Mercedes, who arguably has the same or better tools than Ferrari and Red Bull, that has taken advantage of that gap built through the years, it’s a works team with a PU designed to fit their car and they still got it wrong so far this season.

Pretty much what I expected to be honest. We saw in Miami, they lost 0.5s on the straight there, and it's not better here.

Should have enough pace to challenge for points, but they will be a sitting duck on the straights, so it will be tough.

The good thing is that there are many circuits like Monaco and Imola in the calendar which Mclaren should be able to shine. It's good that we seem to have fixed the Slow Speed Corner. Straight should be the target now.
