Closes up then losing alot on the straight to Alonso.
Its not only that. You can see the difference in time from Norris. From three secs down to 1.5, then to 2 stable for a few laps and now again below 2s. Norris is on very used hards. It might be that mediums dont work that well.Quali also was later yesterday and they dont have much data on temps during this time in Baku.

Norris told to hold position? Thought the orders were to revert the cars if Ric couldnt pass.

I suppose we ought to send a thank you letter to Ferrari.

I think it's fair to let Daniel keep his place but Norris might pass him. Hopefully he won't do that and cause drama.

They'll have to try and tackle this drag problem now. It's a pretty frustrating weakness to have. Giving me 2017 vibes. On some races in 2017 we had an amazing car mechanically, but no way to get past slower cars.

I remember Hungary, Alonso was stuck behind Carlos the whole race, and when he finally managed to clear him, he pulled away massively. Even set the fastest lap of the race.

Oh well at least double points finish but a bit lucky really with the retirements. Top end was killing us here.

Lando making very very clear on the last lap that he had the pace to get past
Nice job by the Team , just wondering what could have been if the car wasn’t so draggy

Now what can they do to fix all that drag? We seem to be missing 10 or 20 KM in the straights.

Side-pods seem to be a crucial point.
The only 3 teams to have short sidepods, are the 3 with the most drag
Aston changed to a RB pod and it massively helped them in the drag department

The guys should be free to fight… but it’s a hard NO to team orders from me, unless there’s a very compelling case, and today there was not

Solid weekend from RIC, let’s hope it’s a building block

Overall, a good result from what has clearly been a tough weekend at a boogie track, some points thanks to good reliability on a hot hot day

My favourite track up next weekend, where tyre wear can be a big thing, and the weather unpredictable. Can’t wait

Lando should remember Melbourne, besides, I doubt he would have gotten past Fernando
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

Race panned out as expected in all fairness. The team calls were the right ones, despite fanbase division trying to make controversies out of nothing. The weekend confirms what we all expected regarding drag issues. In the search for a more balanced car there was bound to be drawbacks. The positive note is it's easier to reduce drag than it is to find balanced downforce, so a backwards step in one area for the greater good long term is acceptable. Should fare better in Canada, with more reliance on medium levels of downforce.
