This forum contains threads to discuss teams themselves. Anything not technical about the cars, including restructuring, performances etc belongs here.
I mean lap 10 is still somewhat understandable. But then to see how fast tyres are going off and the huge lap time difference, not stopping on lap 19 just doesnt make any sense. Also its very likely, people on 2-3 stop strategies will get more chances under SC or VSC considering its Canada, so you'll be easily passed on track.
Alonso was keeping Hamilton behind on the same tyres, I dont understand why they were so pessimistic and basically punted away a podium by committing so hard to one stop strategy. They basically allowed everyone else to have a pit stop while losing only 8-9 extra seconds compared to Nando. You can make up 8-9 seconds in 6-7 laps on such a green track over someone with wearing tyres, I wont surprised if Alonso gets passed by a bunch of people on track after they make their second stop.
strategy was a bit of a farce. also alo had an engine issue. no wonder lec and ham overtook so easily while ocon could hold them up. Shame. but good race by ocon taking advantage of safety car. alo should have committed to a 2 stop from the beginning. was surprised they were trying to do a 1 stop. saved the hard tyres only to actually stop again. still i think merc were faster today. merc are usually faster on the race day then practice simulations show. i think 6 and 7 was the max for the team, but no doubt alo should have been ahead of ocon

How do we know about Alo's engine issue? Had the vol. off a lot.
They just f Fernando race how can they make such a bad strategy his pace was for at least the 4 spot just they are not at the level of the tops teams car pace and strategy
What were they thinking? He should have just pitted so he could get out in front of Ocon and Leclerc, not behind them, forcing him to reduce the pace to avoid getting into the dirty air because he needs the tires for 40 laps. It's stupid and amateurish how they handled Alonso's strategy today.
