Nice comparison.

Interesting to me is if you factor in the beam wings, it would seem that the “overall rear wing angle” (for lack of a better term, meaning if you were to combine the angle/area of the rear wing and beam wing) between the two cars is roughly similar. Alpine seems to prefer to tune the beam wing more drastically while running a relatively smaller rear wing compared to the field. I wonder why that is? My guess is that they see a drag benefit but nobody else seems to follow this line of thinking.

Good question. I dunno. I guess the high AOA beam wing, and the new top beam wing, will upwash that airflow better towards the low pressure zone that is below the RW, and that should improve that hot air extraction...
That rear opening will definitely help the beam wing IMO, thanks to its small size indeed. It's probably the smallest outlet amongst the non-louvered/little-louvered cars : )

Interestingly, Alpine seems to be the only team that only uses an air scoop for the rear brakes cooling, while the others either only use an inlet in the gap, or scoop + gap (Alfa, RB)

My Guess would be extra cooling for braking in Montreal.

That white stuff is probably foam to see how much the tire deforms on track...
Maybe they'll alter that wheel deflector later to make the whole assembly more streamlined
Or maybe they will open a cooling inlet in that blanc space and fully/partly remove the scope, which should bring more air to the wheel winglets
Or maybe they were just testing tire deformation

I think the white foam is an "inlet packer". or "blocker" if that makes sense.

There is no inlet there anyway, except maybe that tiny channel (yellow) that might channel some air to those electronic elements. (the blue scope inlet seemingly cools the caliper while the red ones cool the disc)

These Alpine lego parts are v. useful. They can test & race many beam/endplates/wings combinations fast & cheaper.

I think that's just because of experieince with running the PU in this guise(new PU new Fuel, new chassis). In winter testing they had an idea but just wanted to make sure they had enough cooling. They've made an effort to run with as little cooling as possible and have admitted to running too hot atleast once.
