People still haven’t figured out that porpoising is something that is affecting all the cars. Not just merc. Never has been. Lord Max was heard complaining about bouncing today too, finally. Maybe he just slipped up. Oops. But its obvious You have to learn how to go fast with it. The hell with the drivers health. Right?erudite450 wrote: ↑01 Jul 2022, 18:52Quite a few teams were porpoising in the fast corners. The Mercedes didn't look that bad honestly. But like you said, I expect Redbull/Ferrari to be a few tenths up the road tomorrow.Tvetovnato wrote: ↑01 Jul 2022, 18:25Looks very similar to Spain. Still porpoising in fast corners, not much on the straights. Ferrari and RB will turn it up tomorrow again and be gone.
And those two were apparently the least affected by it in testing.Hammerfist wrote: ↑01 Jul 2022, 22:36Alpine and mclaren are also looking the bounciest theyve been all season. Thats very technical And also the past obviously, but the past does not matter in F1, unfortunately. And it obviously does not mean there is one team that does not make mistakes. Every team makes mistakes, and every run come to an end.ogonek wrote: ↑02 Jul 2022, 09:51Mercedes 8 > other teams 0.Andi76 wrote: ↑02 Jul 2022, 08:07Here we are again with the same old discussion, aren't we? And no discussion and facts will change our opinions. But at the end of the day F1 Teams spent a lot of money in research. And ALL TEAMS researches said that these sidepods are not the way to go. Or these teams are just stupid because they just were not able to figure out how they work. But i highly doubt that all the other teams are either wrong or stupid. The more realistic option is another one...PlatinumZealot wrote: ↑02 Jul 2022, 07:35
Just because other teams can't figure out how to get performance with the side pods it does not mean the side pods are inherently bad. Sort of a fallacy there.
I don't think Mercedes made a mistake, their problem is financial constraints.Andi76 wrote: ↑02 Jul 2022, 10:20Thats very technical And also the past obviously, but the past does not matter in F1, unfortunately. Max just increased that back to 3tenths. Whilst having 2 yellow sectors and purple middle.De Jokke wrote: ↑02 Jul 2022, 13:25I think it's pretty clear they have gotten it wrong.
Major update and 6tenths down in fp3 as we speak. While RBR becomes more and more dominant. (season's over btw, as ferrari cannot keep up with rbr development)
edit: 4tenths now, still way too much
edit 2: 2tenths for lewis, is there hope? Probably Verstappen still taking it easy
And it's back down to a single tenth with a purple in the last sector for Lewis.chrisc90 wrote: ↑02 Jul 2022, 13:32Max just increased that back to 3tenths. Whilst having 2 yellow sectors and purple middle.De Jokke wrote: ↑02 Jul 2022, 13:25I think it's pretty clear they have gotten it wrong.
