Mercedes W13

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

The car hasn't seen much changes over the season. Nothing drastic.
However, if they do get a new nose, will it have a separated lower plane like the other cars?
For Sure!!

Is that a high and low DF version of the same wing as the top planes differ?

Maybe it is exactly the same and it is pespective since the upper one is almost at the same height as the camera while the lower one is angled in relation to the camera - check the top part of the end plate.

Relatively sure it's the very same wing elements they had throughout the season, here's Miami for example

No, the profile is distinctly different, the bottom image shows a smooth continuos edge where as the top image is more shaped almost angular in appearance.

That’s definitely two different profiles. On one there is some black above the petronas logo, on the other there isn’t and as prox said one is wavy and the other a smooth curve.

They didn’t even bother to list the front wing in the pre-event changes note, that’s how insignificant the changes are.

There were rumours of an engine fix, to allow them to run at full power. I think this was more optimistic speculation.

After the Summer break.

Has it been confirmed the PU hasn't been ran at full power? I don't remember seeing this.

The launch of the PU Phase 3 is expected after the summer break, which should also include the introduction of the new hybrid part and thus bring performance even closer to the more performing PU Honda and above all Ferrari, finally using the 2022 unit at full power. Until now, albeit with the second specification a step forward has been made, the use was conservative for reasons of reliability and consistency.

Motorsport.com quote:
Mercedes, which will be running with a revised cooling duct on its nose that was spotted on Thursday, has also made changes to the floor edge and the front brake duct.

On the floor there is a reduced curvature on the edge ahead of the rear tyre.

The team explained that this: "reduces local floor load by reducing the local camber [thereby] improving flow into the diffuser, which is turn increased diffuser load."

The addition of internal louvres at the front brake duct exit are aimed at improving cooling, with very hot temperature expected in France this weekend.
