Seems like it, not going to be able to attack right now. Conserve and attack towards the end and hope Alonso's tyres fall away.
Will the tires last to the end though? They all stopped arguably 6-8 laps earlier than expected for a one stopper.
Lando making a few mistakes in the last couple of laps is allowing Alonso to increase the gap
Lap 18 was earliest window for a 1 stopper, was it one or 2 laps earlier?
Sainz hards were already struggling when he pitted but it may be that if you expect the other teams to stay out then you will stay out.
Then from 6th to 16 the cars are too close because of the safety car, so will anyone risk dropping behind?
It's very far from optimal but the closeness of the middle pack may prevent further pits.
