Amazing drive from Hamilton and great strategy from Merc. Finishing ahead of both Ferrari's (with both cars) is a great result.
It sucks to see that Mercedes are taking over the role that Perez should have, taking points of Ferrari. I hope checo can comeback stronger again after the summerbreak.

Congratulations for the Clown team, for bringing the absolute hilarity again. Making a 6th out of a 1st and 4th out of a 2nd. Only they can make such exquisite humor.
yeah, a bad showing in general, but feels like it was more down to a mistake they made yesterday, resulting in a setup not working at all for those cooler conditions (or only on the medium tyre at least).

In hindsight, maybe a start on softs would have resulted in a better chance to work around it, but not sure what they could have done differently apart from that today. After a M-M start, no matter what tyres they would have taken for the final stint, it was going to be hopeless.

If it's any consolation for Ferrari fans, their pace on the soft were so bad they probably wouldn't have won anyway
Carlos was slow on every stint, it doesn't mean much saying he failed to make progress with the soft.
Yeah, checking the data now and LEC was as fast as HAM on the softs. Ferrari strategists...

Invariably, Mercedes has started helping Max and Red Bull in the championship now!

Even Russell acknowledged in the driver pen Leclerc's misfortunes. Binotto will be looking for a job if he doesn't sort his strategy team
So what? It was the same comedy with Domenicali and Arrivabene, they're hopeless.

but that would have been 2xSoft. No way he could have done 32 laps on used softs.

In complete hindsight and after seeing everything, I hope people are not too harsh on Ferrari's strategy team for today specifically because there was not really anything they could have done. The only thing you could really fault them for was either starting on Mediums or pitting Leclerc again for Softs at the end
Yes, they're probably blind, deaf and mentally retarded, so they couldn't help making decisions that everyone else knew was wrong the instant they made it.

Agree Ferrari just had no speed today. no matter what strategy they would employ they were just too slow in all situations.
We were all expecting this to be their track, guess that is why we are referred to as armchair experts and not experts. :|

I didn't keep up with his gap, i thought he went into "f... this" mode(i know i did), yet he still finished right behind Perez...
1s ahead of Perez on track... Sainz.

Don't make me laugh. They could have made the opposite decision at every given point to what they actually did, and they would have finished in front. If they left Leclerc out the same way Hamilton stayed, he would have been at least where Hamilton finished.

Strong drive from Max today. The spin wasn't much he could do about.
He is having it very easy with Ferrari as his main opponents. Redbull had the best car today, but they were way back.
As predicted if Ferrari didn't pass Russel early enough Max would win bar any mechanical issues.
He and Perez sliced through the field today.
Ferrari really messed up with strategy, Sainz and Leclerc should have been on the same strategy. The let redbull trick them into an early stop and worse they put on hard tyres!
Anyhow with the pace that the redbull of Max had today he would have won even if Leclerc was on Sainz strategy, such was the strenght of the RB18.
Sainz was no where near max, even with the best strategy.

As for Russel, he was not unlucky. His strategy was good, Hamilton just was able to stay faster for much longer to get the tyre offset. Russel was fighting the Ferrari's too much.

What was exposed today was Sainz poor ability to attack. He wasted so much time hanging 2 seconds behind Russel. And he also did little to keep on Max's pace.
As soon as Charles had a go, Charles was past. Ferrari need to tell Sainz to step aside once Charles comes in his mirrors. Sainz lost them the race today. Leclerc would have been past Russel by lap 6 if he was in P-2.
For Sure!!

The weather didn't help. For years, Ferrari cars seem to like warmer temperatutres.

They had options, they could've used softs in the middle stint to attack Russell, they didn't plan ahead and thought that track position on hards would be enough... it wasn't.
