So, is Dan back to Alpine a possibility? He is not getting on with the car and has been with Renault previously?
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

Daniel is confirmed for 2023 at least. He is not gonna go back to Alpine.

If they have omitted the laps where drivers were being lapped then this mightly impressive by Lando👌🏻
Pace was very good to be honest. If you get rid of the last couple of laps on softs where Lando lost like 5 seconds, it gets a bit closer.

Then you have to consider the fact that Lando had the second longest stints on the hards (after the Alpines) and we know how much the hard sucked.

The true average would have probably been around 0.7s down on Leclerc and optimistically, on an optimal race, probably a bit better than that.

Can't really complain for a car that in Bahrain was 2.8s down on Leclerc on average xd

Where there is smoke...

Just a bit too much rumours involving Piastri and McLaren to ignore them. Tells me that despite the messages Andreas en Zak spread lately regarding the position of Daniel, they are not completely sure of him and do want to have a plan B. Of course this does not mean Daniel will definitely be replaced, but he needs to step up.

Yep… if it’s on Twitter it must be true! 😉

Yes, but McLaren is famous for his audacity to steal personnel from other teams =D>

Mclaren are always going to have a plan B in most areas including Drivers. Look at how fast Ricciardo was announced as a Mclaren driver after Ferrari announced the signing of Sainz. Mclaren have potentially done the same here.
I’m sure that Ric said at the 2021 car launch that he had a 2 year deal and then ‘another year’. If anyone can find the launch on Sky it’ll be on there. I don’t think 2023 is as nailed on as others do.

There’s a possibility now that Piastri will be in a Mclaren and Ricciardo in an Alpine.
Just a fan's point of view

Fabrega also tweeted it, he's a pretty reliable source... all pretty messy, if Mclaren intended to sign Piastri, but he ends up in Alpine, now everyone including Daniel actively know Mclaren tried to replace Daniel...

Mclaren would have been pretty stupid not to be looking at alternative options. Piastri looks like the next good one in from tge feeder series.

I would be surprised if they had signed him, but also not surprised.

Only the stans (e.g. naive) would think that McLaren is not trying to replace Ricciardo. The writing has been on the wall for a while, regardless of what Ricciardo says.

Asked if Piastri or his management have indicated that he doesn’t intend to race for Alpine, Szafnauer said: “Oscar and his camp are considering their options, whatever that means.”
