And it turns out, Norris had to adapt and its making the best out of it. I'm not sure how that argument makes it any better for Daniel? Do you really want to use the fact that Norris can work with a difficult car as an excuse?

Mclaren seem to have carried over many of their traits from last year according to Lando:
"Last year, I would say that we had more of that, and then it's not an easy thing to adapt to that, like holding the brake in some sorts of corners that you don't feel like you want to hold the brake in, and then doing the opposite in other corners.
"It's not like an obvious thing on how to drive the car in every corner."
whos too say not all cars on the grid feel like that? he hasn't driven any other car of the current regs to compare??djos wrote: ↑08 Aug 2022, 12:48Mclaren seem to have carried over many of their traits from last year according to Lando:

The onus is on you to back up up your claim, I’ve already provided evidence from Lando to confirm my claim.MrGapes wrote: ↑08 Aug 2022, 12:51whos too say not all cars on the grid feel like that? he hasn't driven any other car of the current regs to compare??djos wrote: ↑08 Aug 2022, 12:48Mclaren seem to have carried over many of their traits from last year according to Lando:

Evidence?
what evidence he hasn't driven another car? what...?
Lando said the car is very different to drive, I'd therefore assume all cars are very different to drive.djos wrote: ↑08 Aug 2022, 12:48Mclaren seem to have carried over many of their traits from last year according to Lando:

He has driven cars in other classes so its not like he’s never driven another race car.
Logic isn’t something you are familiar with it would seem.
The point is how does this exonerate (in this context) Daniel from being so much slower than Lando?. And this is quite evident as well, their quali time differences are ~0.2% in q1 and these jump to ~0.7% in q2 and then ~0.9% in q3, their avg quali positions are 8.46 (Nor) and 11.62 (Ric), the only one who's worse compared to his teammate is Zhou and he's a rookie. At some point, you must be objective and not just a fan. Also, it's not like his career is finished, maybe Ricciardo can go elsewhere and have a career renaissance like Vettel, but if your complaint is that the MCL36 is not easy to drive then doesn't that just lend credence to why he isn't desirable for McLaren now? - he's slow in their car.
Isn't every car on the grid unique?. What does uniqueness have to do with capacity of a driver to extract the optimum lap time from a combo of the car's suspension setup, braking, on/off throttle stability in corners and inherent aero characteristics?.
It doesn’t, (and Is not my intent) I’m merely refuting “Daniel has forgotten how to drive” and “the Mclaren isn’t a unique handling car” bs being trotted out by some folk herepolitburo wrote: ↑08 Aug 2022, 13:24The point is how does this exonerate (in this context) Daniel from being so much slower than Lando?.
