the rear wing was missing the edges, and it was installed afterwards

I believe they call it a "joggle".

Updates for Belgian GP

Interested to see the reprofiled front wing. That part is already unique on the grid and they're taking it further away from others hopefully

That's quite the reduced floor edge chord. Unique

So what is interesting to see, from my professional point of view, is the fact that the lubs and particularly the fuel is designed with Petronas for better combustion, hence better thermal efficiency and consumption rather than increasing the ICE power output ...

That could be translated that they are aiming to develop the engine in order to run harder for a longer time ...
Would another benefit be that they could start with a bit less fuel and thus a bit less weight? Even a kilo saved would help over the course of a race, I'd have thought. Or are the gains you mention too small to be noticeable in terms of weight?
You are just right: when we talk about better combustion that means the same energy is made from less fuel ...

Now regarding the time gained over a lap, I read that even this year 10kg of fuel equates to 3.5 - 4 tenths (race dependent), so for 1kg of fuel they could gain some 35 - 40 hundred seconds per lap, which over a 70 lap race it`s worth some 2.45 - 2.8 sec ... Yeah, I know you could say that a race could be won even with a couple of tenths gained at the pitstop, but I don`t think they are focusing on that particular area, in this case, coz this benefit is too small compared to the amount of development/money spent for it ...

The main reason is that their development had reached the law of diminishing returns regarding big power outputs over a year, that`s why a said I think they are more focused to bring gains in the thermal efficiency area aka combustion and more towards running the engine harder and longer in higher modes ... it`s true that the lubs could lower ICE`s internal frictions and rise the thermal flow efficiency but from my point of view this could be done more due to mechanical developments ...

Compared to other cars it seems that they are using the rain-LEDs acting like little vortex generators resembling 2021 rear wing end plates ... are they allowed to do this?

That:

wide front half of floor leading to
> short edge wing flick leading to
> step down to narrower rear half of floor

Reminds of the Red Bulls shape of the edge of its floor.

What is going on with that middle wing? It basically looks vertical.

Are there any pictures of the 2023 mirror that HAM tested in FP1, according to SkyF1?

Furthermore, are there any info had they`ll use the new MGU-K here, bearing in mind the 1 of September deadline for this final spec?

It was just a cover they put on

Mod edit: this is the question being replied to below. We were too fast removing it, it was sort of W13 specific after all. Copied here as a quote.

Is there a maximal mirror surface in regualtions? Would a higher mirror be beneficial for the driver?
Edit: There was a post i replied to asking about a maximum allowed surface and the height the mirrors are placed at which was deleted so i deleted mine and edited this one ... it's a defined reflective surface (150mm wide and 50mm high) and the mirror must be in this blue defined volume (RV-MIR-HOU):

So they don't have much room to play with up/down.

Does anyone know if any of these changes actually helped them in terms of straight line performance? Losing 0.5sec to RB in a straight us frightening in itself.
