At this stage, I'd say Ferrari is becoming the 3rd fastest Race Car. Definitely have the outright pace on a qualifying lap... but come the race, Mercedes is starting to make their lives difficult, forget about Max and Red Bull.
imo whatever advantage Mercs have is due to their strategy.

Max & RB were clearly fatser there was no point matching them with both. Atleast one of the car should have been on alternative strategy....but no started both on soft while lewis started on medium. These clowns have no plan.

im starting to feel...there should be many more such mistakes so much so that next season there should be no excuse left for some of them to be kicked out.

Another race to forget. At least Leclerc is able to stay on the podium.

That penalty could push Sainz out of the points.

Either the technical directive has completly hamstrung Ferrari, or they have comprehensively lost the development war. Simple as that.

against RB definitely , but im still not ready to accept that rest of the feild is any good . Specially Mercedes. They are just out doing Ferrari on strategy.

Maybe a combination of both. It seems they cannot run the setups they could before, so it takes a bit of time to dial the car in on Friday/Saturday.

But this season for me highlights why Seb couldn't become a champion... Not totally his fault.

Ferrari were slow today. Had Lewis put on softs, not even Leclerc would have been on the podium. Mercedes is objectively faster in the races now.

I agree actually. I’ve been the biggest apologist for the team, but this year they’ve made both drivers look silly on multiple occasions. When it was seb looking silly, I actually started to believe he was being silly…. But now all the pieces are starting to fall into place. They’re just slower, and suddenly there’s erratic strategy calls, desperate overtaking moves, more mistakes, etc etc. it’s a self fulfilling prophecy at this point.

Next 8 races are going to be really depressing from a performance perspective
As predicted.

This season is the exact carbon copy of 2017 but everything happened faster:

Clueless driver management
Trying to help the slower driver. Today Sainz was 0.5s slower in a 1.15s track.
Incapability of blocking a TD with a negative impact on performance
Incapability of responding to that TD from a technical point of view
Embarrassing strategies
Embarrassing pit stops
Terribile reliability

So angry with ferrari, was always big fan. Switched to other teams after alonso years as i realized they are worst when it comes to strategies. Gutted for lecrec , big fan of him and sainz was hoping for a fight and same s**t happened. Ferrari is not going to win in another 10 years. If i was lecrec will try for merc seat, he has no right to waste his talent in team.

There was never a chance to block TD.

Every concept has it strongs and lows, not every car responds the same to these changes.

Other points are correct. After all, if they manage to keep 2nd in WCC this is an upward trajectory from disaster of 2020. I just hope that all these errors and blunders give something next year. Learn from that. Then it can be forgiven.

So what? :wtf:
?? One of the few things Ferrari got right this season was the car and how easily Charles was extracting performance out of it. Since a few weekends that hasn't been the case. I wonder why...
Imo its more like RB improving rather than Ferrari/Leclerc not delivering.

Red Bull did not really improve. Red Bull is just as far ahead of the competition as it used to be. Its just Ferrari is not there anymore and not on Red Bull level anymore, but more on Mercedes level now.

Agree with this, it doesn´t matter what team gets hurt, if drivers safety is compromised FIA must prevent extreme porposing. Wich team is affected or wich team isn´t is irrelevant, safety first
When did we have extreme porpoising for the last time? I did not hear any driver (not even Mercedes) complain since Barcelona. Teams were able to sort it out by themselves. So this TD was unnecessary and exaggerated. Anyway - its a shame that teams who were able to design a car working properly now could get punished because there was/were team(s)not able to design a car working properly. Thats a very bad precedent and a bad evolution. If you got your design wrong and cannot be competitive and do not want to sacrifice even more performance - complain about safety instead of making your homework and get your car working properly.
No car is devoid of bouncing, it's not just "extreme" that's bad. You can see it on all on-boards. And so far it doesn't seem like the most troubled team (Mercedes) gained anything from it.

I have always believed that the drivers in the team should have similar requirements for the car and similar driving style. Perhaps Ferrari began to improve F1-75 so that Carlos felt more confident, but this weakened Leclerc. RB did exactly the opposite.
Or Leclerc should sit in the RB with Max, or Max in the Ferrari with him. Both can handle a car with an unstable rear. With all the red-suited clowns, Max will never be there, and Leclerc's patience may run out before his contract expires.

It seems their tyre understanding has gone backwards (imo good enough evidence that the TD has had some impact - they most likely can't run the same setups as before - it'll really depend on if they'll be able to get the tyres to same window pre-TD in the coming races otherwise the rest of the season will probably be very painful); Mercs have definitely made up some ground on race pace and will continue to do so. Can't get over how everything has turned out after a very promising start to the season.
