Daniel will finish the season with McLaren… Discussing a replacement for this season is foolish.

It’s a shame that Alpine won’t release Piastri early and let him run a few FP sessions with the Team, regardless of lap times it would do wonders for him looking at 2023.

The key will be weather his reserve contract runs until dec 31 or the “end of 2022 season” as to weather he can do the you g driver test for McLaren, otherwise I hope they can get some running for him at private tests in a 2021 car

His Alpine contract runs until the 31st of Dec, these details were released during the Piasco and I raised this before.

Of course Alpine could let him go early or there may be something in the deal between Alpine and us that allows him to drive the EoS Test for Mclaren, time will tell.

There have been discussions / negotiations to that effect between the Teams already, but so far no agreement

Palou only got a single set of mediums for FP1 while Norris set his time on new softs, so the gap itself is not comparable.

The soft isn’t 2 seconds a lap faster.

From all indications, he did only high fuel runs, which puts it in better perspective

So what we expecting. A solid run for lando finishing 7th, alonso 8th. But very little excitement?

Hoping for 8th or better but probably be lucky with 9th or 10th for lando
