From what I’ve heard, they are still waiting on the tax credit.
The cost cap is just a overall amount. Nothing to do with drinks or food, stop drinking the Redbull coolaid.Oleo wrote: ↑28 Oct 2022, 20:40Causing 2 to 4 million in damages to your opponents by probable deliberate crashes: 10 sec. + 5 grid places penalty: "Harsh penalty."
Overspending by 400.000 on drinks, food, various social security payments, etc that you easily would've handled/paid out differently on hindsight, ergo no likely performance influence, after having an unexpected 2 to 4 million extra cost in damages caused by opponents: Massive wind tunnel penalty + massive cash penalty: "Weak penalty, what a joke"
People are funny.
Move the post again, cause what happened in 2021 stays in 2021, while its literally a discussion on 2021.
Doh... obviously they tried to push their own interpretation and they failed. All other teams succeeded in circumventing the cap. Do you really believe all other teams are innocent? Only RBR got caught.tpe wrote: ↑28 Oct 2022, 20:40Would could etc etc etcArcticWolfie wrote: ↑28 Oct 2022, 20:36The FIA acknowledges that had RBR applied the correct treatment within its Full Year Reporting Documentation of RBR’s Notional Tax Credit within its 2021 submission of a value of £1,431,348, it would have been considered by the Cost Cap Administration to be in compliance with Article 4.1(b) of the Regulations and therefore RBR’s Relevant Costs for the 2021 Reporting Period would have in fact exceeded the 2021 Cost Cap by £432,652 (0.37%).

Do you really believe that a multimillion organisation that can apply complex tax rules to their beneft and at the same time follow a complex cost cap set of rules cannot apply correctly some forms to the tax authorities?
So… Redbull are innocent cause the teams that have being found to hhsvevstuck by the rules may have broken them some way in your mind, but Redbull were too honest and so unlike those other teams were unfairly punished.ArcticWolfie wrote: ↑28 Oct 2022, 20:53Doh... obviously they tried to push their own interpretation and they failed. I work with far more money (private and government) and somehow they can all make money disappear or appear by the clap of their hand.
I heard a similar thing, and that they applied for it retrospectively (pretty common in the UK tax system) and were hoping they could include it in last years numbers. I suspect other UK based teams could have done similar, but didn't because they probably realised it wouldn't count.
To be honest, I thought the penalty was mild. You're quick to judge... I thought the penalty would be at least 25~50 million euro's and 25% less use of the tunnel/data.f1jcw wrote: ↑28 Oct 2022, 20:57So… Redbull are innocent cause the teams that have being found to hhsvevstuck by the rules may have broken them some way in your mind, but Redbull were too honest and so unlike those other teams were unfairly punished.ArcticWolfie wrote: ↑28 Oct 2022, 20:53Doh... obviously they tried to push their own interpretation and they failed. Sure.
They are behind in submitting their accounts as wellwest52keep64 wrote: ↑28 Oct 2022, 20:59I heard a similar thing, and that they applied for it retrospectively (pretty common in the UK tax system) and were hoping they could include it in last years numbers. And the sport needs to be subjected to a team that has twisted the rules that has helped them win championships.ArcticWolfie wrote: ↑28 Oct 2022, 21:03To be honest, I thought the penalty was mild. I'm just saying, it's not all black and white. In my opinion the cost cap is a joke that needs to be get rid of sooner than later.
It's the F1, not the F2, F3 or Indy...
Have a look at the thread title, 2021 cost cap.Oleo wrote: ↑28 Oct 2022, 20:40Causing 2 to 4 million in damages to your opponents by probable deliberate crashes: 10 sec. + 5 grid places penalty: "Harsh penalty."

And RBR would've left the sport, ruining the sports... and the circle is round again.f1jcw wrote: ↑28 Oct 2022, 21:06And the sport needs to be subjected to a team that has twisted the rules that has helped them win championships.ArcticWolfie wrote: ↑28 Oct 2022, 21:03To be honest, I thought the penalty was mild. In any other sport they would be disqualified.
I think that's intentional. It would have been harder to use the tax credit as mitigation if they had submitted their accounts without it, which they'd have been forced to do.f1jcw wrote: ↑28 Oct 2022, 21:04They are behind in submitting their accounts as wellwest52keep64 wrote: ↑28 Oct 2022, 20:59I heard a similar thing, and that they applied for it retrospectively (pretty common in the UK tax system) and were hoping they could include it in last years numbers. And my response to that would be the sport is better off in the long run then!ArcticWolfie wrote: ↑28 Oct 2022, 21:08And RBR would've left the sport, ruining the sports... and the circle is round again.
I had the same response for the past 7 years when Mercedes cheated in 2012 and gained a lot more experience beforehand.dans79 wrote: ↑28 Oct 2022, 21:16And my response to that would be the sport is better off in the long run then!ArcticWolfie wrote: ↑28 Oct 2022, 21:08And RBR would've left the sport, ruining the sports... and the circle is round again.
