Nothing special… He is just just showing how much the driver can make an impact on lap time when you have a track with low grip like today.

Besides, Bottas has always been top notch when it comes to qualifying. Spain 2019 comes to mind as one of his more special pole laps being more than half a second ahead of Hamilton.

Lando ahead of both Alpines… It’s impressive how he is bringing the car forward… Let’s hope race pace follows and tomorrow he can bring some points home… Daniel seemed the most comfortable he has looked in the car in quiet a while, here it’s hoping that he can have a good Sunday and move the car into the points.

I dont get it how Bottas was so fast here when the car was non existent almost all year. Are you telling me that Bottas is a better driver than Lando cause I find that hard to believe.

Mexico is a weird track, you expect the field to be much closer, and some cars to benefit far more... I know its a quite year for Bottas, but just last year he outqualified Hamilton here...don't think you should undermine his qualifying ability

Just because Bottas is driving an average xar doesn't mean he's an average driver. Just because he wasn't beaten by Hamilton more often than not, ignores the fact that he still occasionally outqualified Hamilton.

He's a good driver. It all came together for him in his car.

Lando in 8th, is fine. Would have expected 7th as best of rest. But will take 8th and ahead if the Alpines.

Daniel being Daniel and out qualified by Lando again. He has a car that can be ahead of both Alpines and should have been ahead of them. But 11th is good compared to last week.

Good driving from Lando, he did say they looked good here. Nice to see Ric closer too- if I recall he was close to Lando in Mexico last year too so 👍🏻to him.
Standard fly in the ointment for us Mclaren fans though… another midfield runner (Bottas) looking faster than Mclaren all weekend🙄

How unlucky for Daniel, less than a tenth to make it into Q3, but one of his best sessions in a long time… Hopefully he will continue to build upon it towards the race… There doesn’t seem to be a lot between McLaren and Alpine in Mexico.
Not wrong, he missed out on Q3 by half a 100th of a second and was consistently within 2/10ths of Lando.

Bottas has always been a one lap hero, he’s just rubbish at the racing part.

Alpine have been gathering data by running 2023 increased floor heights for a couple of weeks now.

What was his excuse for not being able to overtake at Mercedes?
