The soft tyre was a masterstroke, but Daniel is having an amazing race.

Wow, finally a good race from Daniel. He made it a bit harder for himself, but props to him he was flying that second stint. If only he had these performances more often, 4th would have probably sealed by now considering how abysmal Alpine's reliability has been.

Lando didn’t fill me with confidence after what he said to Martin Brundle before the race so no doubt you’ll get all the ‘it was expected’ quotes from him

They are like a switch during races. They seem sluggish at first, but then they come alive. Lando also managed to step on it and get past Bottas, even with older rubber.

Stunning drive from Daniel. He was the fastest guy on track the moment he started that last stint. I was afraid he blew it, considering his pace dropped the lap after the contact with Yuki, but he came back and fought for it like a lion. Driver of the day and definitely his drive of the entire year. I wished he showed this more often during his time with the team.

Weirdly the poor story for Daniel meant no real risk in taking the punt on the softs. Which was the best choice.

Perfect strategy from the team. Also a sensational drive from Daniel in the end after a rougher start
