Clearly, there is a lot more to exciting racing than F1. If Max and Bernie prostitute F1, we have some options.
the gt3 challenge class are the same car that run the gt3 cup not the full out race cars like flying lizard entrymodbaraban wrote:Just watched a (hugely) delayed coverage on Motors an hour ago.
First impression is. Woah, good colours! Solid rosso F430, Martini 911, traditional M-gmbh BMW paint... and now I see there's a Gulf Porsche on one of your shots. Wow! Shame the Vettes are gone! Any idea when the C6 GT2 debut is scheduled for?
Also I wonder bout that new challenge class. Is that a proper GT3-like class with some plans for the future development (i.e. more cars, different cars) or just a momentary 'green' idea to promote those "fruitful" tyres?
That was a Riley-prepared GT2. I guess the works car would be somewhat different. Although it's no real match to the fascination of the C6.Rvyselegend wrote:The GT2 'vette was at Sebring, I remember it had a disastrous race, worse than BMW's!
It lapped less than 90 laps before retiring with serious mechanical problems...
I saw the GT1 C6's at Limerock last year. Simply Amazing!Hope it will get better, but I prefer the GT1 car, it's sound at Le Mans is engraved in my brain for ever.
True, the factory effort should be of another level. The GT2 car doesn't look bad, but it definitly lacks the bestiality of the GT1. It's not of the same class, litteraly and aestetically.modbaraban wrote: That was a Riley-prepared GT2. I guess the works car would be somewhat different. Don't forget to take flynfrog's exemple and bring back lots of pics to share!DM0407 wrote:
Can't wait to go this year. Anyone from the Northeast USA plan on attending?
The GT2 is going to have more styling from the ZR1. That car can't be it, the fender outlets are Z06 style. What's up with that picture? And I hope, and don't think the sound will be much different. They are dropping displacement of course, but the roar should be the same. By far the best sounding cars in Le Mans series.modbaraban wrote:Riley-prepared GT2. Here's a pic of the GT2.
It already looks leff gargantuan than the GT1. It's not as wide and the headlights look like one's on a road car. I guess the sound will be different too.
I think you used the wrong word therevyselegend wrote:True, the factory effort should be of another level. The GT2 car doesn't look bad, but it definitly lacks the bestiality of the GT1. For my part I'll do the job at Le Mans.
Guys, in less than two weeks I'd be there again, I'm so exited, I'm already feelin the ground shaking as the pack is raging through from Mulsanne to Indianapolis.
