It seems they have been busy. That floor looks a lot more refined! Does anyone have any pictures of this floor fitted to the car? Specifically pictures of the bib area. Looking at that floor, I feel like they've changed that area quite a bit.

The floor height increase is on the edges isn’t it? So the Venturi tunnels especially the inner ones will have a likeness to todays. Also if they have struggled with correlation, now would be a good time to iron those out with on track data

Not 100% sure which areas. I seem to remember the throat of the floor being raised too?

There will likely be a good few areas that the concepts and principles will transfer so like you say important to get good correlation.

Given the RB concept was based around the idea of a raised floor, and the regulations next year raise the floor, I'd argue Merc developing a similar concept is certainly "worth it".

It's pretty interesting to see it, but basically thanks to the budget cap, teams are building the full-size car more and more like the windtunnel model in terms of the "modularity". That rear wing endplate detail is straight from the windtunnel model. It's slightly heavier to design a car this way (because each junction adds mass), but with the cost cap, it allows you to get the best of both worlds.

An interesting article in italian.

"Mercedes with Power Unit Phase 3 reinforced the crankshaft to improve reliability. This allowed better PU optimization and more aggressive maps while keeping good reliability. Next step was taken in Mexico with new turbo management mapping, a change that allowed for better heat dissipation"
