Mc Larens grow?

Hi,
I am wondering about Raikkones win in Sunday. His Mc Laren was so mutch faster then befoure [last race don't finished].If we compare times with Renaults - In second sector was largest diferent times .What a reason of this rapid grow of Mc Larens? It's only good developtmet of all parts of car, or something new inovation? :?:

i dont know if there is anything special but since the winter test.. we can see that mclaren has been consistantly been very fast.Earlier in the season they had a problem with getting heat into the tyres for the 1 lap qualifying. After bahrain they fixed that problem and i think they are showing their true potential. If u saw the f1 race with itv .. they interviewed ron dennis and he said that mclaren is the best car when it comes to taking car of the tyres.And if im not mistaken he also said it is because of the balance of the car. Maybe there is the answer to your question. Mclaren can push more and dont need to look after their tyres as much as the other teams

McLaren also have the privelidge of a third driver on the Friday of a Grand Prix weekend. Something B.A.R. used to good effect last year.

There a possibility they ran underweight for a large part of the race.

De la Rosa was commenting the race in tele 5 and when he saw alonso's tyres , he told "i had that problem on friday, and kimi's car has been set to prevent that". Mclaren is a well balanced car, if they pass their reliability problems they'll be on top, also Mclaren is so carefull with tyres

Well i think that the comment that the Mac's could have been underweight is silly. After what has happend to BAR would a team like McLaren risk a simimar rule infringement?

I feel that MaLaren stick to the rules better than any other team... If you look at some of the stunts that MS pulls you could only agree

ok good point, do the cars get drained of fuel after the race , then weighed
or is it the way they finish. casue they could run under weight for the whole race then at the last stop fill it right up and then their end weight would be heavier........

The cars are supposed to be weighed without any fuel in the car, this is the problem BAR had. There was a tank that was used to keep the fuel pressure up that still contained 6kg of fuel

The problem is that the cars have never been weighed completely without fuel in the car for over the past ten years. That is the precedent that has been set, not some obscure clarification in 1994 that no one can find any documentation on. Essentially weighing the fuel in the collector as a part of racing weight has and is continuring to be the "rule". There is a good chance that Mclaren have been running this way. Willis took this basically as the standard operating procedure in his tenure in F1, which includes his time in the williams team. Newey was also at williams so there is a great liklihood that they operate in the same way.
