There was confidence in the run-up to 2022 too. I distinctly remember posts last year extrapolating Allison's confident statements on their YouTube channel as testimony that the W13 was going to be a monster..
Well George would be ahead, so I can't imagine it.
I think Mick has pace when at his best. He just has very basic race craft. Maybe the new team can put some resources into sharpening him up. For him to be an F2 champion, he has to have something going for him outside of having the best setup car. Don't get me wrong, I know Russel is better, but these guys are humans. Some will have off days and some will have unbeatable days.

Mercedes put out a cheeky little 3d animated meme on the social media as if to say the W14 is going to scare everyone. They seem very confident in what they have worked on. The lack of humility is suggestive.
100% agree Holm86. He got the position for the ad money he brings in for his last name.Holm86 wrote: ↑02 Feb 2023, 23:02All Mick has got, is his last name.ringo wrote: ↑02 Feb 2023, 22:31I think Mick has pace when at his best. Look at his F2 champion season stats, 0 pole positions, only 2 wins, only 2 fastest laps, he is the only F2 champion to win the championship in the final round, with the smallest ever point margin. He really isn't what everyone is hyping him to be
More than likely. But good to see him still remain in F1.Chuckjr wrote: ↑02 Feb 2023, 23:18100% agree Holm86. He got the position for the ad money he brings in for his last name.Holm86 wrote: ↑02 Feb 2023, 23:02All Mick has got, is his last name.ringo wrote: ↑02 Feb 2023, 22:31

Well I think the first thought is "Michael" when you hear "Schumacher". Which is why the name is so lucrativechrisc90 wrote: ↑02 Feb 2023, 23:23More than likely. But I cant help but think....if you mentioned the name Schumacher to virtually anyone, they would immediately think of Ferrari.
So then what would your second thought be?AR3-GP wrote: ↑03 Feb 2023, 00:01Well I think the first thought is "Michael" when you hear "Schumacher". Which is why the name is so lucrative
okay well then it's Ferrari
This article says that they developed the 2021 F1 fuel that was carbon-neutral, which was way ahead of what F1 decided to use 100% carbon-neutral fuel in 2026.AR3-GP wrote: ↑28 Jan 2023, 16:05Exxon Mobil didn't make the fuel. I can assure you of this from my professional point of view explained in more detail here:

I'm thinking the same. They ought to be more humble in my view. I always get the feeling that the culture in Merc's social media department doesn't quite align with the rest of the team which generally seems more modest.
To be fair, last year had a lot of unknown variables, this year the regulations are relatively stable.
