Just looking at how much less volume is in the upper section of the engine cover, even compared to the very minimal amount that was there last year.

Other teams (new merc case in point) seem to have far more volume, far higher up than Ferrari. If nothing else, it seems hard to argue that Ferrari wouldn’t have a superior centre of gravity compared to say, the merc and the alpine at a minimum…

It does look even more streamlined than last year, I really like the idea of clearing up the rear wing airflow. I don't think CoG will have a big influence, but yeah, it's always a good thing to combine good aero concept with low CoG concept.

organic's image proves it indeed has gotten much slimmer in 2023. I'm not an aero expert, the area behind the cockpit is slimmer but isn't the air flowing through that area limited by the cockpit being ahead of it anyway?

They don't get up to the sort of speeds that would induce porpoising on filming days and Fiorano is just a very bumpy track to begin with.

I think its on pupose and quite clever. It could actually be used reduce loses in this area and improve airflow.

I am sure that there is a reason for this positioning, but it is not clear to me how it would reduce losses and improving airflow.

In pretty much the same way a vortex generator does.

After seeing the analysis of KYLE.ENGINEERS here, I believe that the exposed lower impact structure is not an advantage. Maybe it would have hurt more in the floor, or maybe it was too expensive to change its position.

why not, that should be the time to try reach max top speed and see if everything is good since the competition can't see your data
