Pretty sure Alpine stopped developing quite early out. Just minor tweaks here and there. It was McLaren that kept bringing the parts.
We won't really know who was stealing from peter to pay paul, until Bahrain.

After all, it's not the first time we heard a team stop developing and move to next year, and the next year car is awful...That happened to Mercedes.

Knowing Fernando, I imagine he will lobby for more testing time now that he has the chance. De la Rosa might help him with that.

While I understand that they'll likely call up Drugovich if they think Stroll will miss the Bahrain GP, Alonso desperately needs the laps as well (he has recently criticized the lack of testing in modern F1) and any feedback of his will prove more valuable than Drugovich's. They should give Alonso a bigger share of the "testing pie" IMO.
It's 6 sessions(if you split mornings and afternoons), if they genuinely think Lance will race in Bahrain, i'd say give 5 to Fernando, give day 2 morning time to Drugo.

If Drugo is expected to race maybe give him one full day in the car.

Well he still has his fastest lap so... he's quick around Bahrain!

Can you rephrase this?

People in the team bragging about wind tunnel/simulation numbers behind the scenes?

The W13 should be a lesson to all, that simulations mean nothing.

The car looks ambitious (much like the W13). Its performance is another aspect entirely.

It's not only the car, it's the team. And there's reason to believe in a big step from them this season
1) Few days ago I posted a comment made by the french TV commentators who got very reliable sources, saying everyone in the paddock is saying AM is THE team to watch for the years to come.
2) I showed the statics, who are very encouraging, the progress made by AM in the second half of the year were tremendous, the progress made were faster than Alpine (I posted it here also IIRC)
3) It will be the first car designed by Dan Fallows

I think the will be like Merc in 2012, inconstitent, but very fast on some occasion, they might get on pole or win a race

I welcome it. The sooner Fernando Alonso has a chariot at the sharp end of the grid, the better.

Can you imagine the AMR23 being only 3-4 tenths off pole in Bahrain?

Nope, +0.7-1s at Barhain
But last year they were "only" 1.2s off the pole in Abu Dhabi/Japan/Austin, whilst they were +3s/2,5s to pole in the first 5 races last year.
With the same progress, and their usual flash of brillance at Baku/Monaco/Singapore/Austin they could get a pole
